Should we get 24th century movie/mini-series to bring closure to that era of Trek?

I don't really want closure. I'd rather get a passing of the torch.
Do a new series, have someone from TNG (preferably Picard) in the first episode, similar to Picard's role in the first ep of DS9. A few eps later, have someone from DS9 show up (maybe Sisko, because I'd like them to establish that he returned to his human family and was there to raise his new kid). A few eps later, someone from Voyager (I'd like them to establish how Seven adjusted successfully to life in the Alpha Quadrant without the Voyager crew staying together).
But keep the focus on new characters.
Well, I'd be okay (albeit surprised) if they brought back Ezri, because she only got one season, or maybe someone who only had a recurring role before. But not a major role for someone who's already had seven seasons, and especially not a third major role for Worf.

I think this is the main reason why the JJ movies and now Discovery are set before the time of Kirk and heavily reference Kirk and Spock. It is designed to give the shows broad popular appeal.
It's not going to happen. Paramount has made it clear they're done with the TNG time period. We got to see a glimpse of Prime 2387 in Star Trek 2009 but that's as far as we're going to see. (does everyone around here agree that flashback was Prime universe? I'm sort of new here.)

Examine the fallout from the destruction of Romulus and the disappearance of Ambassador Spock, maybe christen a new Enterprise, or needlessly kill off a major character like Picard or Riker in a blaze of glory. If a film never happens I'm content to let the Litverse folks handle it.

I'd rather they found a reason to have Jadzia back.
Unless they figure this is a way to squeeze some more money out of the still damp 24th century Star Trek sponge, then Paramount would be interested.
While I would think there would be considerable repercussions from the destruction of Romulus, would there really be any from the disappearance of Spock?
With all these older shows getting new seasons (PrisonBreak, Will & Grace, Roseanne and others) why can't we get a new season of 24th century Trek? A mini-series that's not meant to continue more than ten or so episodes. They could bring in characters from TNG, VOY and DS9 tying them together. With so many to choose from if some declined (Avery Brooks will refuse, he turned down the DS9 documentary "What We Left Behind") it wouldn't be felt. We could even have "new" characters and even others like Molly O'Brien, Miral Paris could carry on the torch.
It would have to be a story that intersects all three series so what if the Dominion and the Borg were at war and the Dominion was losing? Shapeshifting Borg? Jem'Hadar Borg? Maybe gimicky...,but I thought a Borg Queen would be gimmicky in First Contact.

I've never heard of PrisonBreak, but as far as shows like Will & Grace and Roseanne are concerned, there's a big difference between those and TNG: TNG already had three sequel shows and four films. Roseanne did not. The 24th century of Star Trek is literally exhausted of material.
Put it this way...if we got a follow up...I would be happier if it didn't focusmon Picard.
Once...my head would have sploded. Now....now.....can we keep the Voyager stuff mostly? Or not...actually..I don't mind.
I feel the sponge will be revisited soon. TOS had a decade of nostalgic reruns before the Trek train started again. Us TNG era kids are prime advertising dollars now, and it's not TOS trending on Netflix

It is an absolute no brainer to bring TNG back in some fashion. The X-Files was a major hit in it’s limited run and TNG was more popular than the X-Files.
With programs like Will and Grace, Roseanne, Full House, Dallas etc, coming back it seems the trendy thing to do...I wouldn’t even bother bringing back DS9, Voy or Enterprise as they simply were not popular enough and are culturally irrelevant, but TNG would bring fans back in droves.

I think the only way to bring post-Nemesis back is to make it sort of Star Trek: The Next Next Generation.
You maintain a thin bridge to TNG via cameos or occasional guest appearances from actors who can still pass for active Starfleet officers but otherwise focus on a new crew, new mission, new challenges. Heck, Discovery could have been that show had they wanted to go there, all with the same look and feel (sans the flippie communicators).
What's been mentioned here is that the Kelvin timeline "vandalized" Prime by destroying Romulus. We saw the aftermath of this written into Star Trek: Online but it's such a huge loss that I'd have a hard time seeing that further canonized in a post-Nemesis show.

Star Trek online has its ânnorax standing by ready to come inline with the new canon xD
You see, the aftermath of Romulus being destroyed interests me... and is that Empire's Praxis event, where they need to join the Federation to survive. Obviously with elements who prefer to conquer Vulcan and destabilize from within instead.
I don't see a 25th Century setting being the future of Star Trek at all though. It's more a desire to see better onscreen closure with a mini-series or one-off special reunion of some my favourite TNG/DS9/VOY characters, and see how they are a couple decades on.

I recommend Prison Break. The first two seasons are amazing, but this fifth season has been really wonderful! Seven years later!
The difference between Roseanne, Will & Grace and Star Trek is that the production costs are so low for a sitcom when you compare it to an hour long drama/sci-fi like Star Trek.
As for the 24th century being "exhausted".... I won't argue, but I couldn't disagree more. There's always more stories. They could even do a 50 year jump into the future, which would age our characters more than the twenty-ish years since we've seen them last, but the universe could have been completely re-shaped in that time. Humans live longer in the future, it could be easily done, and seem completely fresh!
