Honestly guys, can we knock this shit the fuck off? I'm not trying to mini mod or any such thing (so mods, shoot me if you still want). It's just a personal plea.

I just don't think this kind of stuff has any place in these threads on this section of the board. It's distracting and completely derails my reading of otherwise very good, engaging threads.

The Enterprise is being repaired and he is canonically the captain of the Enterprise until he hands it over to Kirk. It just wouldn't make sense for him to abandon the Enterprise and stay on the Discovery for multiple years.
You're forgetting Alex Kurtzman doesn't know or care about established Star Trek canon

Agreed. Who cares if things make sense? Canon is just an annoyance there to be destroyed

I'm actually glad you agree. Star Trek after all is such a diverse and wonderful property...and was never really meant to be this 50-year epic spanning generations and universes. It's nice that fans and producers are willing to let that go for the overall growth and health of the franchise.

Indeed. The amount of health coming off STD just drips all over the place. A truly well done, universally accepted series... except by those bastards who insist on quality instead of Kurtzman

Yes. Anson Mount sold me on his Captain Pike performance and I would happily watch a show about his adventures!

If Pike gets his own spin-off, he will go from have Burnham talk down to him to having number one talk down to him....
No I’m just sick of the large number of new shows and movies made in 2018 having men (particularly white, straight men) being made to look stupid and/Or a sexual deviant. I’m sure you would be the first to moan if Pike was talking down to Burnham
Infraction for trolling. Comments to PM.

You're just introducing needlessly political rhetoric in order to provoke a response.

Maybe more of you should try not being stupid sexual deviants in the first place. I'm glad TV and movies are calling you all out.
It's white privilege to be oblivious to the problem, so I don't expect you to care.
If this had been just a general commentary, that would have been fine, but you made it sort of a personal attack on those two posters as well. And while AttentiveLuke started us down this path of discussing unrelated political issues, you didn't have to engage with it. When the show actually gets political, it's fine to discuss it. But this episode was pretty mundane on political commentary.

By the time Pike returns to the Enterprise, it will be about 5 years from when TOS begins and Kirk takes over, that's too close. Limits the scope and story potential.

A perfect way to end the Pike series: Kirk taking over from Pike in the final scene of the final episode. I think seeing Pike for 5 seasons on the Enterprise during his second 5 year mission would be very interesting.
