we already have a series of captain pike and we are seeing it now.
There are many shows on the way, I am concerned that this leads to a decline in quality.

They're spacing them pretty far apart though. They old series were pulling grueling 26 1 hour episode seasons (even at the time very few shows were doing that) .
In comparison Season 1 of discovery had 15 episodes (one was added on) and season 2 is supposed to have 14, plus they have much longer in between seasons as they are not forced into a 12 month schedule of broadcast TV, which is good as the fx take much longer. So all told, they can risk having more shows to pad that time between series. I think that will keep anticipation and interest between favorites going, maybe sprinkled with the occasional Short Trek

Yeah ..so there is that. But I have a feelings it's gonna be a very limited series.

It's intended to be ongoing. How ongoing it'll be due to Patrick Stewart's age? No one knows. But it opens the door. If we have Star Trek series running in the 23rd Century and in the 24th/25th, then both parties are being catered to.

The question what happened after NEM was answered already by STO, which - of course - is still ongoing. people interested in that timeframe have a great game to explore

Somehow I doubt they'll canonize much from STO, or at best dance around much of it, especially Enterprise F (cringe).

It’s not canon though. Some people care about that.

The Ent-F is beautiful

I know it's subjective I don't much care for these spade-shaped saucer ships. Before long every 25th century starfleet ship will look like a mad scientist's suppository.

Not all of cryptic’s ships have the Sovereign style saucer.

Also this was a fan design remember, not a wholly original cryptic design.

Because we’ve already had a series focused on the Enterprise.

Give him his own show, don’t take over Discovery.

Discovery needs a better lead character than Burnham. Pike is more likeable after 2 episodes than Burnham has ever been.

A lead character need not be likable. The fact that they haven't gone an easy route with Burnham has grown on me over time.
I'll agree with Tuskin on that. There's been a few enterprise shows. Let's see where this ship Discovery goes for awhile longer.

There's nothing even interesting about her. She's a smug know it all Mary Sue. Along with her unlikeability I really can't stand her.

You know all these flaws you've levelled at Burnham in this and other posts contradict your argument that she's a Mary Sue, right? Besides the fact that she's not an author insert character.

Mary Sue is not just "female character I don't like", despite how the term has been bastardized.

I was under the impression it's a character who is always right and revered by everyone. Even after she mutinneed that's Burnham.
