Hardly. Killing people has been around since people have existed on this planet. Do you mean to say that everyone who has ever killed anyone else was insane?

I'm against the death penalty, for adults, kids and adolescents. Especially kids and adolescents.
I am against the death penalty in general, but find the notion of executing a minor especially heinous.
Besides the fact that we don't have a death penalty (I agree with that), we also seem to do the reverse: You become an adult under criminal law when you're 18, but under special circumstances you can be prosecuted as a minor until you're 21. And I agree with that as well.
That would never, ever fly in the US. This is a country where we can try 12-year-olds as adults and lock them up for life.
Don't forget the mentally handicapped ones.
So am I, but only for the extreme cases. If somebody commits armed robbery, but doesn't hurt anybody, then no. Life in prison is good enough.
On the other hand, murderers and rapists don't even deserve a trial. They should be shot dead on sight.

No, I'm saying that anybody who commits MURDER or rape (both inexcusable and unforgivable in my view) should automatically get the death penalty.
And yeah, I know we don't lock people up for life for not hurting anybody, but, armed robbery should be punishable by life imprisonment. Any crime with a gun (or whatever weapon) implies intent to harm.
