I think one point to consider is that it is is being supported by a subscription base via CBS and Netflix. If that is the case, then the series may contain more adult content, as it is may no longer be constrained by TV schedules, ratings, corporate sponsorship, etc. Beyond that, it may even digress from the franchise in many other ways.
