Ships Of The Starfleet Museum

It's actually caused by the wasy I made the part.

UPDATE...
I think I fixed the bumpyness I was unhappy with. And started to add some details to the front section.

Nice start at making it look realistic! So, are they going into Reaver space with that body strapped to the nose? :D

UPDATE...
Well I think I’ve finally got the shapes that I want for the secondary hull. I’ve still got a few things to iron out but I can get started on details.

UPDATE...
Started to work on the warp engines and added details including a small opening on the outer side of the engine to add some green glowy bits.

I’ve added the impulse engines and two shuttlebay doors.

That's good to hear. Was afraid you might be sharpening your knives and looking for my neck. :D

UPDATE...
One small scale pic. I made the mistake of thinking the D3 is overall larger than the D2 but it’s only longer with an extened neck and shoulders. I’ll fix that when I get around to that ship.

The build on this is coming to an end. The two bumpy things on the middle of the ship have another cutout in the front but I might leave those of because I don’t think it’s needed. I’ll see how it looks and then decide. I’ve also started to unwrap parts of the ship to start the textures.

You don't have to worry about that. I'm not overly possessive about my designs. My original schematics are all pretty low-detail, so you model-makers have a lot of latitude to add all your little doo-dads. (Also, I'm more likely to break necks than to cut them.)

UPDATE...
I’m just about done with the build on this. Just a few minor things to do like beveling edges and fixing some smoothing groups. I’ve also started to get deeper into the textures and this is what I’ve done so far. Still has work to go.

A better look at the new cutouts I made on the top of the ship.

UPDATE...
I’m getting close to the final version of the textures. I need to make a few adjustments still.

One of these two ships will be the next one I build.
The Powhatan

The Bison.

UPDATE...
This will probably be the last update for this ship this month. I’ve done a little bit more texturing and now I’m gonna start to unwarp the head and neck. This will take awhile since they are one part and have mesh smoothing applied.

I've looked into 3d printing but I'd do my own designs because I don't want to step on any toes.

UPDATE...
I’ve been so busy trying to get the house cleaned up I haven’t had much time to do any work. I was haveing some problems getting the head and neck to unwrap but now I’ve got the neck and I’ve started on the textures. I still have a few thing to work out but it is coming along.

UPDATE...
Well I decided to go back to the d2 and remove some polygons to help speed up the unwrapping of it. It’s helped a little but it will take me a long time to get it done. I still want to some building too so I’ve started to get work done on the Powhatan.
