Ships of the Line 2022

I suppose its coincidental and not related to the German Star Trek spoof series Unser (T)Raumschiff/ (T)Raumschiff Surprise.

Most likely named after the HMS Surprise, which was also portrayed as the hero ship of Patrick O'Brien's Aubery-Maturin novel series. Like C.S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower series, O'Brien's work tends to get referenced a lot among ship enthusiasts.

Attitude or not, this is a thread about the calendar so the two of you were pulling it off topic to have a back and forth about the producers' intent in Enterprise, so Christopher is not wrong to suggest it stop.

What? He responded to my post and escalated the conversation. If he thought I was veering off topic, that’s what he should have said to begin with, instead of being condescending to me. I’m fine with not veering of topic, but acknowledge his behavior as well. Just because he’s a Trek novel writer doesn’t give him carte blanche to be a jerk.

Followed by a bunch of stuff that I already know and don't need mansplained to me. Let's not drag this thread off topic any further.

Christopher, Christopher. One cannot "mansplain" to a male.

Signed, a woman.

*Sigh*

If someone is condescending to you, it's just that. Not "mansplaining." That's for the morons who think that women are stupid, unintelligent or that they are just that much smarter than a woman that they need to "talk down" to her.

Condescending: Talk down to a person. (either sex)

Mansplaining: A man talking down to a woman, not just because he's an condescending jerk, but his opinion of women is in the basement.

Note: I'm not condescending in this post. I'm just plain out sarcastic because that's how I roll when faced with, well, I'll stop here because I actually like you. Just quit using the damned term incorrectly, please?

Finally got my copy earlier this November at the local Calendar Club shop once it finally re-opened. I am pleased with what I have in hand. Also, I'm wondering if perhaps we can find a way to continue the work of Star Charts/Stellar Cartography by way of another calendar series.

Moving on to a specific artist of interest to several of us...

Also, it's extremely good to see D.M. Phoenix back. I've missed his art the past few years.
That artist has, I think, been a steady contributor over the last decade, yes? Every year, almost without fail in fact.

I do wish that Phoenix would update their website for these post-Flash times. Adobe discontinued the product for multiple reasons, including web users' safety.
