Ships of the Line 2019

Actually, October is an old image of Gabriel Köerner's Enterprise redesign. Like, really old. Which I don't mind, because I wasn't comfortable with being, as far as I know, the person who got the oldest picture into SotL. Thanks, Gabe!

Trek Collective has some larger pictures than Amazon.

Honestly, it irks me whenever they reuse images in the Ships of the Line calendar. But my folks have been gifting it to me every year since 2003 or so, so I'm in the minority of people who have gotten it consistently and would notice.

EDIT: Or am I remembering incorrectly that this has been used in the calendar before? I remember seeing the image floating around pre-2009 though.

There have been images of that model in SotL before, but that particular picture was just on-line. I don't think they've ever actually used the same image in two different years.

One of the 3D modelers put up some untextured renders of some models (apparently prematurely, since they've been pulled offline). Here's a clearer view of the new D7.

Maybe "D7" is a broader designation than we thought. As in, not the name for a specific design, but more a general category of ship, in terms of size, abilities, etc.

Shenzhou is NOT older than Discovery.

The evidence suggests that it is. In the flashback to Burnham's arrival on the Shenzhou, it was explicitly called an older class of ship (hence the weird satellite-dish transporter stage); whereas in the episode where Burnham was first brought aboard Discovery, it was stated to be new and state-of-the-art. Either it was an all-new ship or it was a top-to-bottom refit of an older class.

It is.

It's a shame they felt the need to do that. It's look was part of its charm I thought, and all the other Star Trek shows made sure that it looked correct when they went back to that time.
Because those were homages. They didn't take place solely in that era.

But this isn't the thread for this discussion, we already have a couple threads in the Discovery subforum dedicated to this.

I'm betting on "top-to-bottom refit" where the Glenn and Discovery were concerned.

The Discovery is a new ship. The Shenzhou isn't.

Don't bring up the Registry number, they mean squat. Star Trek has never been very consistant on that front.

NCC-00’s are the NX’s
NCC-100’s were the Daedalus’s
..
NCC-1000’s Bonaventure
...
NCC-1700’s Constitution
...
NCC-2000’s Excelsior
...
NCC-26000’s Ambassador
...
NCC-70000’s Galaxy
...
NCC-73000’s Sovereign
...
NCC-97000’s Odyssey

They go up over time but there are many discrepancies with many of the ships. Would be interesting if a writer could explain them. Come up with some wacky explanation for them.

In chronological order:
10281NCC Bonaventure
NX-326 Franklin
NX-01 Enterprise
NCC-1701 Enterprise
NCC-1031 Discovery

Franklin isn’t a Prime ship, no matter what people say.
I’m talking about the NCC-1000 Bonaventure from the ships of the line calendar a few years back. Not the TAS one.
