Yeah I lost a little respect for Alex here, letting Charlie rant like that. I know the two of them are friends but as a friend he should realize that Charlie is having problems and not enable him.
I just read some of the stuff Sheen said/wrote about Chuck Lorre. Seriously, seriously uncalled for. 
Pretty much everything Charlie said didn't make sense or was uncalled for. To disrespect the creator of a show that has given you success was pretty low. Here are some highlights from the interview...

I am torn between condemning drug users and taking some myself to reach the mystical mental dimension that Sheen resides in.

"Fire breathing fists" is an awesome metaphor, but wow, Sheen is delusional. 
Yeah he was completely off his rocker.
I stopped reading after Sheen said he cured himself of drugs and alcohol with his mind.
It's amazing that somebody can throw away a job that pays $2 million an episode. But Sheen managed to do that. But this is what CBS gets for enabling his behavior for so long.

I think having Charlie on and letting him rant like this also puts Alex more in a bad light and takes a bit of his credibility away. He really was like a ranting lunatic.

Who's starting the pool on who will replace him on the show? I have little faith CBS is going to end the number one rated comedy on TV like this. My money's on Adam Baldwin or Kiefer Sutherland.

I've always been able to separate what I learn about a performer's real life personality from their work. This is why I can still enjoy "Seinfeld" or Mel Gibson's movies after finding out how messed up some of their stars are, but this...I don't know. I kinda wish Charlie wasn't in one of my favourite movies ("Lucas") now. I'm not sure if I can look at him again without cringing.
Also, I think "Two and a Half Men" is (to steal a term from Roger Ebert) morally reprehensible. I wouldn't want Adam Baldwin to be tainted by having anything to do with it. I like him a lot because of "Firefly" (not a huge fan of the show, but love his character and how he played it) and him being associated with "Two and a Half Men" would sadden me.
