Shatner on the new Enterprise

Does anyone really care what that fat egomaniac thinks?

Far more than I care about what most people here think, yes. :techman:

What's actually funny/endearing about Shatner is that he doesn't care or know much about this stuff - if he was asked to pick the original Enterprise out of a lineup of Trek ships he might have to phone a friend.

He said in an interview once - I think it was back in the early 80s before Trek became sort of a big deal again - that he mainly remembered the different episodes by "who the girl was" in them.

So in other words, he's normal.

Unlike us.

I like the Shat but I gotta say, his review of the ship sounded to me like someone had a gun in his back.

I disagree with him however, the ship imo isn't "shipshape". I hold out hope that ship is a timeline tampering anomaly which will be erased. If not, fine but I won't be buying it for my Starship collection unless it somehow woos the crap out of me during the film.

Turns out it's the first time Shatner ever actually saw a picture of what the Enterprise was supposed to look like.

Yeah. Uh, not gonna happen.

.

Well if Shatner likes the ship, and Nimoy likes the script. That has to say something about the film. No?

I'd say so, yes. These guys have truly been the heart of Trek for years. If they can move on and affirm this new endeavor, why can't most fans? I guess, because as it was said previously, they're normal. -Dan

no one's going to notice the teenie little changes other than us anyway.

sorry for being a bad gramerer!

My God, the shat still looks like an ox. How old is the guy, 78, 79 now? He still looks like he could whip my ass.

If I recall, he's only a year younger than Sean Connery, who has dried up and blown away recently.

To those calling him 'fat': when eighty you reach, look so good you will not, hmm?

I don't know...old people say crazy things....;)

Kidding. I mean, it does help assuage things but....I've seen Abrams' work.

And I haven't liked any of it.

Does the new ship have to give you come-hither looks only you will be able to discern as you watch the movie? Or give you a box of chocolates and a dozen red roses? :guffaw: -- RR
