Shatner on the new Enterprise

I like the Shat but I gotta say, his review of the ship sounded to me like someone had a gun in his back.

I disagree with him however, the ship imo isn't "shipshape". I hold out hope that ship is a timeline tampering anomaly which will be erased. If not, fine but I won't be buying it for my Starship collection unless it somehow woos the crap out of me during the film.

Does the new ship have to give you come-hither looks only you will be able to discern as you watch the movie? Or give you a box of chocolates and a dozen red roses? :guffaw: -- RR
:guffaw: No, just a little massage to my memories of what she should look like. It's like I went to bed with one woman then woke up with a stranger. ;)

My God, the shat still looks like an ox. How old is the guy, 78, 79 now? He still looks like he could whip my ass.

If I recall, he's only a year younger than Sean Connery, who has dried up and blown away recently.

To those calling him 'fat': when eighty you reach, look so good you will not, hmm?
Well I don't know....when the day happens that he passes ,...just like Gene,

I think he has a point. It's the Enterprise; it's not like they added a bunch of stuff and turned it into some other ship from some other franchise. The overall shape and design says Enterprise, and in the grand scheme of things, the neck being moved slightly back, and other details really don't matter so much.

I don't think so. The first thought I had when I saw the new bridge was "Apple Store". It's not that I mind that they tried a new design it's that I hate THIS design. I would have liked something more ... useful looking, something that looks like it was actually designed to CONTROL a starship.

And I don't care about teh shat.

Shatner likes it?

Meh. His call. His right to say it.

I'm not much of a fan right now, so maybe a little of The Shat will rub off on me in the coming months and I'll change my attitude a little. But Shatner might very well be trying to get in good with the studio in case TREK XII might want him to be involved.

:techman: Yep, Shat looks amazing for his age, and he's sharp as ever.

Does anyone really care what that fat egomaniac thinks?

Obviously we do. Shat for the win.

I hope KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS gets remade so Shatner gets put on the spot in an even bigger way.

In which case, he'd better hope Louie Anderson or Nathan Lane gets his old role or else he's screwed.

wow, have to say i'm surprised. figured he would be completely against it.

Well, he probably is, but he realizes that it's much too late to keep whining about not being in the movie.

My guess is that he's now sucking up to Abrams, hoping for a part (as old Kirk) in the sequel. :)

You all do realize the only reason Shatner is praising the new Enterprise is because he thinks he can still score a last minute cameo in the movie, right?

That's it, it's not a "reboot." It's a "reach-around."
