As I meant to mention when you first brought it up, given the ending of Fearful Symmetry I'd be surprised if Mirror Vaughn didn't at least get referenced in The Soul Key.
My thought was that maybe we haven't seen MU Vaughn because^Hmm interesting idea. Maybe that's why he hasn't popped up in any of the MU only books, the authors and editors wanted to save him for the DS9 MU arc.

...Lorna Simon is a character from Best Destiny by Diane Carey. I'm not familiar with Stone, Thorpe or Copowycz.
...although Empathy was too short.

Interesting you should say that, considering that it was nearly 11,000 words long in an anthology where the theoretical maximum length was 10,000 words. Any longer and I would've had to cut it down.
^^Well, maybe I could've gotten away with making it longer, but I was told to aim for 10K. Maybe you were able to get away with 14K because some of the others ran short?
Twas the SCE companion e-book I was asking about up thread, or were you thinking of something else. And the book ended up being one tale shorter than originally planned, no?
I don't even know. Part of me is thinking there was an author who had to drop out, and the other part is thinking that that was a previous anthology.Twas the SCE companion e-book I was asking about up thread, or were you thinking of something else. And the book ended up being one tale shorter than originally planned, no?
That's what I've been trying to remember too. Looking back at old announcements on different anthologies, I see Fred Bronson's planned story "Now You See Her..." was dropped from The Sky's the Limit; maybe that's what we're thinking of? The earliest Shards and Shadows announcement I've seen says twelve stories, the same number as in the finished book.I don't even know. Yes, yes, that has to be it. I'm sure that somehow got linked with the rescheduling of S&S in my brain.Looking back at old announcements on different anthologies, I see Fred Bronson's planned story "Now You See Her..." was dropped from The Sky's the Limit; maybe that's what we're thinking of?
Wasn't it "The Greater Good" that had Kirk's bit about "DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!" when he got that one subspace message? Gee, I wonder where they got THAT line.![]()
