I haven't watched this one in years, but it's always been a disappointment to me. I was part of a ST fan club at the time of this airing. Didn't have any advanced info other than it was the season finale. Our club gathered to watch this together (first time i'd done that for a TV show) and while i don't really remember the critical discussion following the episode, I do recall the viewing was rather subdued and there was just a huge wave of disappointment.

That feeling and that letdown have always stayed with me. Is it the worst episode ever? Possibly not, but next to seeing Star Trek V and Precious Cargo for the first times, this has to stand as one of my worst experiences watching ST.

I've got a friend who talks about the shame and horror he felt when watching Doctor Who's Time and the Rani with his local group. I imagine it was something similar.

Yawn. It's been at least five minutes since the last time this came up.

No, "Shades Of Gray" is not the worse TNG episode ever. I wrote a response to the last thread started on this topic (and seriously, it couldn't have been more than a month ago).
Welcome to the Trek BBS!

I liked Shades of Grey. :p

I'm too nice to say what episode was the worst ever. The episode I probably liked least was New Ground. Man talk about a boring, typical kiddy season 5 episode.

For me, Shades of Gray is nowhere near the worst episode of TNG ever. More like
2zom0s2.gif
Code of Honor.

Then you shall have no vaccine. And NO LIEUTENANT YAR!

Wow, Shades of Grey is the worst TNG episode ever? Really? I disagree, that's like saying the Civil War was the worst thing to happen to America or Bush was the worst president ever, and we all know those are both false.:guffaw:

Seriously, I thought SoG was already declared the worst one ever, universally. :p

z suppose your talking about Bush Jr.

Nope. He was the second to the worst.

For the worst we Got Obama!

the worst of that robot is 2 come.

While posting in this forum for a little bit, I have seen a few too many posts say "Shades Of Gray" is not only not the worst episode, but is actually good. This boggles my mind that anyone could think of this as anything other than total trash. I love TNG, but my god is this episode horrible.

Thoughts on "Shades Of Gray"?

Forgive the misspelling in the title and poll.

The worst isn't any of the eps people suggest hear!

It was Hotel Royal.

t was 2 overdone. It was lame. It sucked.

It started good, but then it sucked.

OK...it was good for about 1 minute after they got into into the Hotel, it was when they read the diary.when they found the body.

You see it was painful and annoying to be in the hotel and I would have killed myself than live there.

I had 2 read the Hotel Royal for a school project once and I hated it.

Engrish? I typed plain. But I didn't throw it out of the window and create my own name.

Perhaps I wirr go home and take bath in my bathtub with brow up woman!

The novel? I thought that was a fictional book.

No the Hotel Royal wasn't a fictional novel and about 1 minute into the building I new what was happening.

yep go to the library, the book was wroten 30 years ago. Unfortantly they showed the away team holding an ACTUAL COPY of the book when they found the body of the dead pilot of the missing Nasa ship which they found the hull.

They left a lot out. but you get more of the same crap. but you don't have anything Star Trek. Its set in earlier times and we got all those hallow charachters walking around there. and it does end as the away team ends it.

it is blazing saddles without entertainment. It would make a BAD movie. I don't even think people who watch westerns would watch it. OMG. LOL.

It is as tedous as picard says it is.

I liked The Royale. The episode that is. At least it's entertaining, which is more than can be said for a good deal of the first season.

Nah. It's a terrible episode, no doubt about it, but it's too bland to make it to the top of the "worst" list.

"Angle One," "Code of Honor," "Sub Rosa"...now you're talking!

And I gotta say, I rather like "Hotel Royale," too. I mean, it's not a favorite or anything, but it's kind of fun.
