I'm just glad the conflict ended period. Yes, some fans like that sort of thing, but not me, really. I have to hand it to Gene, when he basically had his feeling that the main chracters should get along-yep, there was Bones and Spock, but we all know the friend-love that was really there between the 'rivals'...and DS may have had more of an edge here or there, and very early-on with an angry Kira, for ex,but that was short, and she and Ben became very close friends also. Perhaps compared to our real-world, it's not as realistic...but, I for one love the closeness that came from setting aside the contention, and bitterness...and, if you consider, how long ,were Voyager's journey a real one itself, would Kathryn, for all her will and strength, have been able to forge a path-an ultimately successful one-across Kazon and Vidiian or Borg space, without a stable crew behind her, as they became, and survive all the tests they went through?Oh, and as for Neelix and his role as Morale Officer....try being seperated seventy thousand light years from every loved one you have, and someone doing their best to lighten that burden with a smile, or a birthday remembrance....and see how much it would mean.
