I miss SGA
I agree ut it was going down to the same mismanagement.
I miss SGA
I wouldn't praise BSG too much. That show also had a phase where it wasn't much more than a third-rate soap opera.Where the Stargate writers went wrong is in presuming that just because the BSG writers were good at "dark, grown-up" drama, that they could imitate them successfully.
They made a huge mistake canceling SGA to make SGU, MGM or whatever wanted to try a new direction (emulate nuBSG), well, they got a new direction all right, straight to the bottom. They should have kept SGA going.
Is that supposed to impress us?Being an Admin of a fairly large Stargate site
I think most people could have predicted cancellation, again, was your prophecy supposed to make us sit up and take notice?I kept telling people it was going to get canceled, but no one listened to me
Eh? Being a regular fan of a show with half a brain cell let's you see where things are heading.Being an Admin for almost 5 years I guess ya kinda see where things were heading
SyFy cancels the shows, not the studio.

Bullshit. BSG's scripts were nominated twice for an Emmy, something Stargate's writers were in no danger of achieving.![]()
No, we have a reputable news report and a Twitter response directly from Syfy. The reason Syfy tweeted the announcement was to reply to Deadline breaking the story. Why has no official word from Brad Wright or anyone that makes the show including MGM? All we have is a few Twitter reports.
Ajay Fry addressed the issue in a recent interview. SPACE wouldn't be able to pick up SGU (and presumably SGA) because it would be too cost prohibitive.I want SGA back so bad...I hope another company like, *cough* SPACE *cough* picks it up and does something decent with it. Considering it is filmed in Vancouver area in Canada.![]()
It was still a game-changer and made an impact on televised sci fi.oh and for BSG --- it was a fine show but outside the miniseries/season 1 and patches for the rest of the way, it was over-rated no doubt. A good show but not in the league to be called one of the greats TV shows of our time as many claim.

You need to get familiar with Gatworld and it's fans so that you know that what is obvious is only for the objective.I think most people could have predicted cancellation, again, was your prophecy supposed to make us sit up and take notice?

He's been an Admin for almost 5 whole years, shouldn't he know that?

SGA was not perfect either and anyway it had a good run as 5 seasons is about the norm for shows these days.

Not unless you mistake a simple introduction as bragging as you are.

Which doesn't bold well for any Fan Intelligence.Eh? Being a regular fan of a show with half a brain cell let's you see where things are heading.
Being on a Star Trek Site you should know there was similar blindness toward Star Trek Enterprise...and still is.
He's been an Admin for almost 5 whole years, shouldn't he know that?
Not unless you make the assumption that is part of his job description to know.
Hey, Kora.
Be nice, guys, she wasn't bragging. SGU's eventual cancellation was discussed quite often on the forum she was/is an Admin for, and sadly the cancellation won't be a good thing for the small but fun forum.
If the show had moved faster earlier on, we might have another season or so...but like somebody said earlier, a show can't 'find it's footing, they have to hit the ground running' and instantly grab the viewer's attention. SGU just wasn't exciting enough to draw in or keep a strong fanbase.

It is possible to be very critical of nuBSG and acknowledge all of it's faults and missteps where storytelling is concerned without pretending that SG has ever been nearly as impressive.
I liked SG:A real occasionally and early SG-1 quite a bit, but in the same way that I can watch an old episode of Mannix or The A-Team - they're decent cheap cheeseburgers, not filet mignon.
