I thought this was the most enjoyable one yet. Using the Kino was a good excuse for the dodgy camerawork (although the fact that nobody has bothered to clean the lens or even notice that it's all grungy is a good metaphor for this type of storytelling).

The writing was well done, with a bunch of good character moments. Nobody acted like a retard or an adolescent. The scene where Eli was talking about his Mother on the screen was excellent. Rush's shrug and "Butch Cassidy" moment were very good. Even Greer was well done.

I enjoyed the "What If" scenario. I really don't get this current "Reset Button" business. These stories are a great way to see how characters respond in situations that are unworkable in main continuity. Who cares about repercussions? The story is the story, and the viewer is outside of it.

I agree with those who thought that this episode actually felt like Stargate; I hope it's a sign that they'll be restoring that aesthetic on a permanent basis.

I agree. completely.

Eli: That's mindboggling

Other guy: Really? Seems pretty straightforward to me.

I think folks should give it a bit more credit.

The bit where we watched Eli's corpse pushed up with the Kino still recording was one of the most unsettling moments I've seen in any tv program. Executed perfectly, with a moment's uncertainty over whether Eli was merely unconscious or dead. Then the last survivor's freak out; chilling.

Personally, I would say this was genuine horror.

My problem is that, yeah, we watched them come to terms with their mortality. They've died scary deaths, several times for some of the characters. But, none of it "really" happened. And, they really didn't solve the problem. They failed multiple times but got redos until they could get it right. All of that together took the drama out of it. Still, a big step up from the previous week.

They've just gotten it hammered in that they could all be wiped out by factors coming at them from right angles such as the water they'd already taken for granted.

I wouldn't say "hammered", maybe suggested to them via kino? And, I think they've all had a sense of impending death from the get-go. Between running out of air, water, and diving into the sun, they've faced being wiped out. So, no, I don't think this episdoe added much to that.

Re: SG-U

I think some people won't be satisfied unless a character in the opening credits is killed by an oily pond.

This episode was much, much better than last week. Eli got some nice moments in this episode as well. I hope they'll keep making this kind of episodes instead of writing those body swop storylines.

Well, going by the blurb for the next episode...

"The crew finds a device that may hold the promise of getting them home. Lt. Scott and Camille visit their loved ones using the communication stones"

It looks like we have Earth 2.0 coming up.

Thought the ep was decent. Gave it 7/10. Interestingly I seem to be waiting until further into the week to watch the episode. Used to watch it the day of... then it was Saturday... now it's Monday (football season = skip a day).

It was a pretty standard time conundrum reset job, but I liked that they ended it on the Kino toss instead of say that Youtube clip of them discussing the solution. It looks like Eli has sentenced himself to being the loyal friend pining for the girl. What an idiot, but I guess I kind of expected that. I didn't like his desert island movies thing... just a little too predictable for me.

Rush's Butch and Sundance schtick was pretty funny though. And I liked the pursuit of ascension angle to Rush's character, even though hunting for Ancient leftovers from hundreds of thousands of years before they actually ascended seems a little iffy.

Maybe rush thought the 9th chevron was going to lead him to a place to learn about Ascension or something.... I do like this angle for his character though, considering he lost his wife...

Atlantis would have everything about ascension in it's database, so why would there be anything relevant in the Destiny's library, as it predates Atlantis by a gazillion years?
All Rush needed to do was hop in that genetic advancer machine-thingy that McKay got zapped by.

I did find it a bit odd that Rush talked about ascension like it was some big mystery as if all the discoveries that SG1 and SGA made about it never happened.

This doubly sucks. The visits home suck and, of course, we know they aren't going to be getting home. It sounds worse than pointless.

He did not know that is where the 9th chevron lead though, nothing in the database said what the 9th chevron was for, it only gave an address. So my point still stands, perhaps Rush though the 9th chevron was going to lead to an answer about Ascension.

I liked this one. thought it was a fun twist that they recovered the Keno, learned from everything the first group did, and then when they sent the new team to try again, that team also failed. A little quick thinking by Scott, and it gets set up to get a better result in the next loop.

Entertaining episode, I don't mind a time travel episode on occasion, as long as it's more or less coherent. And while we didn't SEE the character growth, it still happened. OUR crew saw the recordings from both Kenos, so while we don't see the reactions, it's likely very similar to the reactions we saw from the crew that only recovered the first Keno. That crew ended up not being the one we 'kept' going forward, but they passed most of that along to the next loop, and the version of the crew we have now, so it wasn't a full reset/erasure...

Hmmm.. really enjoyed the ending but didn't like the ending... I'd prefer to see the wrap up afterward in a two parter bit overall a good episode.

The ending worked for me. The other way I'm used to seeing. They take an alien make a medication and give it to the person nearest death and the physical symptons magically disappear in less then 10 seconds. Nah, we didn't need a part two for that

I can't believe I've read through this entire thread and seen nary a mention of how the snakes on the jungle planet weren't just any old snakes...

They were symbiotes!

hey, millenium here....i saw 'Time'..this was way better than earth and felt like a stargate episode....next week looks like Earth pt2.....the show can holds its own without the melo-drama....the moment with eli and TJ was a golden character moment....thats the kinda drama i want to see these people are more or less 'family' now and i look forward to this type of character drama...
