Sexism in the Workplace

I have also learned by living in male dominated world that there will always be at least one man to interrupt what you are saying, so I just raise my voice and continue talking or openly say "I'm not done talking" or something similar.

Our IS department is about a 75/25 split though it's wildly spread across different sub-disciplines. The manager of the largest group is female though. - As for being interupted, I like the line one of my colleagues used "Pardon me for talking while you're interrupting". That tend to shut people up rather nicely:)

(ETA - one of my colleagues was mentioning earlier that her daughter was the only female in her University IT course though and it does seem a common thing in STEM courses unfortunately).

I have experience hidden sexism. I went to IT university, where the professor said: "I think only two kinds of people shouldn't attend this school - women and foreigners." and it was targeted to the class area where I was sitting next to an Asian guy - neither of us passed the exam, unfortunately.
Wow, nothing hidden about that. Just as damn blatant as the other examples you describe. It makes me angry that your generation of women is experiencing most of the same crap that mine did. I'm 66.
