Seven hasn't changed that much

Actually, they can make it a bit like the Matrix too with some deep dives in to the Borg Collective similar to how they visited Unimatrix Zero in Voyager, but with loads of other mind bending high concept sci-fi stuff as well about the nature of reality and existence to make people’s heads hurt. But they have to make sure that it all makes some kind of sense by basing it on real philosophies and science. Something intellectual as well as exciting to watch, large in scope and scale yet still intimate and grounded in the 25th century of a Star Trek universe we know and love.

**EDIT**
Icheb and Hugh could return in some form of Unimatrix Zero as mentioned above, but they might not be able to leave this unconscious realm for the ‘real world’ as their physical bodies are ‘dead’. This could open up a debate about what death actually is *and* bring their characters back. :D

Perhaps Seven could do something with Icheb along the lines of what Picard did with Data?

With Seven having the opportunity to say a proper final goodbye to her ‘son’. :)

Maybe ‘echos’ of consciousness within the new Borg Collaborative fade from Unimatrix Zero eventually just like in the real world? That would be sad, but it would give people in the collective more time to say ‘goodbye’. :)

SNW is like if TOS was made today. Seven can be like if Berman Trek was made today, but not like The Orville.
I don't share everyone else's love of SNW. And if they make a Seven show TOO much like Berman Trek, then I'd rather they not do it at all.

I prefer the essence of the character be the same but the storytelling, directing, and visual style be different. I was sick of Berman Trek by 2000 and while I don't mind rewatching episodes of it now, I don't think that's the direction new material should go.

I'm only turning a blind eye to what PIC Season 3 is doing because I think TNG got a raw deal in the movies.

Icheb wasn't fully assimilated (the Voyager crew pulled him out of a maturation chamber).

Would he even have a link to Unimatrix Zero?

Voyager has had its share of howlers regarding Seven ("Human Error," "Endgame," etc.).

There are times I think, "No wonder the woman's a lesbian!" :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

A ‘future’ Unimatrix Zero might be a bit different to the one from Voyager, it might not even be called the same thing. It would make sense if ex-B’s still called it Unimatrix Zero though, as originally the concept was all about breaking free from the ‘original’ Collective consciousness yet still being ‘trapped’ within it. Ex’B’s may just use Unimatrix Zero as some form of pleasurable ‘metaverse’ now… like an advanced version of what Mark Zuckerberg is attempting to achieve.

So, in answer to the speculation @Danja , Icheb may have had access to whatever Unimatrix Zero evolved in to after the Collective collapsed. Unimatrix Zero could even have become the dominant Unimatrix after the destruction of Unimatrix 01 in Endgame, there could have been some form of *really complicated* Borg revolution. We don’t know much about late 24th/early 25th century Borg culture yet, do we.

Sorry about my double post but the previous post of mine is a bit too old to edit now. Something about this comment kind of irks me, though I *know* that you did not mean any offense by it @Danja .

First of all, if somebody is gay I do not think that something ‘drives’ them to it? This comment unintentionally makes it sound like Seven became attracted to the same sex as a result of her experiences with males such as Chakotay. Please correct me if I am misinterpreting, though I do realise that you were posting in jest. Chakotay and Seven *could* have made a nice couple just as much as Seven and Raffi. Chakotay in Prodigy still seems a nice enough guy for example, but I am not sure if he is single.

I think that Seven would not actually label herself in any way whatsoever in regards to her sexuality. Because of her experience within the Borg Collective she would have experienced a loveless and genderless existence as a drone. In her years after leaving the Collective and Voyager she may have been experimenting and exploring her sexuality and gender identity. I think that Seven probably has a simple, pure and *real* idea of what love is, and she could really find it anywhere regardless of gender or species if she met the right person in my opinion. But I could be wrong, this part of her character has not really been explored yet on screen has it besides a few two dimensional soap opera romance elements in Picard... Voyager explored more, but only with males.

**EDIT**
Oh yeah, Axum, Unimatrix Zero. But she forgot about that.

Chuckles = Wooden, Potted plant

EMH = All but handed Seven an instruction manual on how to date!

Seven is much better off for having left those two.
But it has been twenty years, surely if Seven as a character can change so much then Chakotay would have potentially changed quite a lot too. He might not be wooden any more - he could be a lot more three dimensional if written that way. If a character is ‘wooden’ whose fault is that? Because I do not think that Robert Beltran was a bad actor… perhaps they did not write for him properly at the time though, especially in later seasons. Also, even the Doctor could be totally different having experienced more of life and further evolving his subroutines as he goes along with his AI machine learning. He’s probably one of the galaxies best standup comedians these days working on stage with Vic Fontaine as a double act. :D

Seven has sounded a bit more like her old self so far this season. But she is still showing no signs of rekindling her past interests in science or astrophysics. I wonder if the Titan has an Astrometics lab?

Maybe she's just moved on. People's interests change over time.
Then what exactly *is* she interested in these days? You do not just delete character interests and traits, if anything you evolve them. Seven is *still* being portrayed as a generic sci-fi action heroine regardless of the fact that she has now been put into a Starfleet uniform to ‘look the part’. Seven should be coming up with high concept solutions to situations using her inginuity and intelligence. After Seven’s treatment by Captain Shaw and experience in Starfleet so far it is almost like she has been broken, living for each day at a time much as how she probably did during her time in the Fenris Rangers, except when she was with the rangers Seven had a cause. Seven needs a cause, and perhaps that is a command of her own! :D

Why is Seven not showing her *vast* intelligence any more????

Seven. Is. A. Soldier.

That's what the woman did for eighteen years prior to coming to Voyager. On Voyager, she a choice between being a "scientist" and being tossed out an airlock.

That's not her focus anymore.
