Seven’s borg pride remaining

Voth commando1

So we see throughout Voyager Seven retains a sense of superiority in her borgness and pride in the Borg to some extent.

She says the Hirogen will be assimilated, and also expresses disdain for the Kazon. She also speaks in favor of the Borg regarding the conflict with species 8472.

It is interesting that even after she was freed from the collective she retains some level of Borg identity and pride in being Borg and the Borg collective as a whole.

What are everyone’s thoughts on that? Seven’s remaining sort of sentimental pride or respect for the collective?

Pretty simply those statements and traits that back them up are just a good example of her overall objectivity. It's an example of consistency within the character and makes for a stronger representation of that type, imo.

After about a half season it's not the collective itself she defends, so much as the social order. There's no complex confusing social nuances, no frivolity, just people performing their part. I think that's the part she respects.
