Nope. Because like I've learned in the Abrams forums, examples never change anyones minds. They just go on like nothing was posted.
Ok, so I'll think you're wrong and move on

This is how I feel about it as well. The Orville feels like second-season TOS, when they were in a groove and had those bits of banter and little jokes here and there. The Orville is definitely scratching my itch for fun science-fiction in the vein of TOS.

The example of the Genesis Device has already been given. The Genesis Planet freaking resurrected Spock's body, even, because protomatter.
It's a cross and atomI know the Green uniform = Medical, but didn't catch the insignia.
Someone else did post an example and I noticed you haven't responded to it...

Because it wasn't a very good one.
No, technobabble started from a desire to try and explain everything that went on. Frankly, it was very unnecessary. It doesn't work that way. You can't show something on-screen and then say "oh, warp drive so everything's ok".
Slippery slope. That's how technobabble and bad holodeck episodes started in TNG.
The quick exchange about Malloy drawing a penis on a viewscreen constitutes a whole episode of jokes about it? Where were the fart jokes?Hmm, yeah, except I don't remember dick and fart jokes on TOS.

Pretty much like the superficial and underthought criticism that you've posted.Because it wasn't a very good one.
Except that it's not gelled together yet. Still some work to do to get into their groove. The humor felt forced rather than seamlessly integrated. This is how I feel about it as well. Sure, but that doesn't mitigate the fact that The Orville's Halsey is a five-star admiral doesn't make much sense, unless they've changed the rank system for the admirals, and that would be weird considering they've adhered to the rest of the rank system of the U.S. Navy. But real-life Admiral Halsey was one of the four 5-star admirals.
Yup, which is probably why this character was named as such.Didn't he command...the Carrier Enterprise?
