Set blueprint exchange

Very nice finds there Count

I've uploaded the TMP klingon set plans to the Movie klingon folder
https://www.flickr.com/photos/99878876@N02/sets/72157644744591323/

I had a look at the gunner seat link and found it also had the viewscreen and cross-sections of the pits in the floor. These have been uploaded as well.

The set was converted into the torpedo room on the TMP Enterprise

The voyager type 9 shuttle interior has been uploaded to the shuttles album
https://www.flickr.com/photos/99878876@N02/sets/72157646352071752/

Voyager mess hall has been added to the voyager album (https://www.flickr.com/photos/99878876@N02/sets/72157644597012434/)

In the top right corner of these plans is one of the angled brace walls that appeared in TNG (complete with dimensions). It doesn't appear in the drawings on the rest of the page or the actual set, so I am confused as to why it was added. It is marked with "HOLD", so maybe it was a holdover from the previous show.

I found blueprints for the DS9 Jefferies tubes in "The Making of Star Trek Deep Space Nine" by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens. The second includes a section of corridor.

These are very large files as I scanned them in high dpi so that I could read the construction instruction text. To see the full image click the down arrow image and then "view all sizes"

Finally there is the official final blueprint for the runabout exterior (from the same book). Although not a set plan, I thought I'll include this as we already have the interior.

That messhall one also has the measurement callouts for a section of TMP corridor, awesome!

Yea, noticed that. Excellent, we finally have proper dimensions with which to map the central corridors.

New blueprints for the day, ST09 bridges, dunno if they're the Kelvin/Enterprise redress pair or if one is a different set(maybe from STID?) who cares, attached for purview:

I think that second blueprint is actually for the Enterprise transporter room. You can see the outlines of the individual pads in the main circular chamber.

The first is the Kelvin bridge and the training simulator (the Enterprise bridge was oval). The second is the Enterprise transporter room.

The Kelvin bridge is one of my favourites and so I'm very glad you found the floor plan.

Regarding the angled braced corridor cross-section diagram, I've noticed that its been trimmed down from what was built and not all the measurements are listed. I'm currently working on drawing up a complete plan for this set element and should hopefully post it here on Monday or Tuesday.

Ah, thank you. A little hard to read, but nice. I thought you meant "corridor" not "K-beam". :)

You'll find the corridor measurements on the Voyager set plan earlier, they kept the same dimensions and redressed the corridor frames with the voyager set pieces. So the k-beam dimensions were the only "unknown" quantities on the set.

Interesting that Voyager seemed to be 8x8 at it's narrowest (engineering hallway) and 8x9 elsewhere.

Well, the Voyager setplans clearly show "8 feet" in two separate callouts, and although they are newbuilds they do look like the same width at the remaining TMP parts of the corridor. Hence, 8 feet wide for TMP corridors seems about right.

However, 104" (8'8") is an odd measurement to reach, given set designers' preferences for whole numbers whenever possible.

It converts to 2.64 metres, so it's not a metric thing either.

Redgeneral, please help!

Apologies for the double post, but I think I've cracked this puzzle. 8' wide is the standard corridor width, but at the junction on the outer radius need to be a little wider, to allow for the "wedge effect". It's all there on the aforementioned Voyager setplan, actually:

It's pretty clear to see that the corners on the outer junction wall extend slightly further out compared to the walls further up the straight corridor. It's about one beamsworth either side, making up to the extra 8" required. Looking again at the TMP setplan I can see this shown, although it is much less clear due to the overdrawings.

The standard 8' width can be seen when Data and McCoy pass the Transporter Room doors in EAF (which of course used TMP's straight corridors unaltered). The distance between the walls, the width of the walkway and Brent Spiner's height all match up with an 8' width. If the vertical braces were indeed build, they would have had doorframes and door holes cut into them!

The 8'8" width (and full vertical braces) can be seen on both corridor junctions throughout TMP. What is interesting is that the curved corridors' vertical braces appear consistently along the radius, instead of being buried in the doorframes. Why this should be I do not know.

Thanks Redgeneral, I learned something today! :)

I may be blind, but why can't i see 8'8" or 104" anywhere on the blueprints? someone able to point them out to me.

I know of the wedge, i originally put the wedge at about 1 foot narrower than the average corridor length, based on a guess and the fact that the k-beam width is visibly narrower on the TNG version while retaining the correct angles and edges.

Also, interesting that the corridor doorways are 4' long, sickbay is larger than the average door, would that make it 5' based on the designs?
