Sequel excitment builds!

This time, I'm gonna make an effort to stay unspoiled! :rommie:

I was pretty mucch 95% unspoiled for the last one, thanks to a new baby and a new job that meant I just didn't have much time to check out the spoiler threads. I think that's one of the reasons I loved the movie so much.

So I'm going to try very hard to stay spoiler-free on this one. It really makes a difference.

Yeah, I was 95% unspoiled, which, unless you just don't get on the internet, listen to radio, watch TV or read papers or magazines, is about as close as you can get to being unspoiled.

I am tingly with excitement already. :D

You're right. When Spider-Man 2 was in production, I read absolutely every spoiler I could get my hands on. I read the novelization as well. When I finally got to see the movie, I felt kind of disappointed, because I had either seen or read about everything, and it was only new to me in that I was seeing it all in sequential order-- there were no surprises left.

I'm afraid I'll do the same thing with the Trek sequel. Willpower isn't exactly a notable virtue of mine... :shifty: But I'll try not to be too hardcore in my pursuit of spoilery goodness! Much like chocolate, spoilers are delicious at the time, but you if you consume too much of either, you'll regret it later.

Remaining spoiler-free is impossible. I would have to sell my computer. I would have to go into a medically induced coma a month from now and stay in it for two years. Maybe they can wheel my unconscious body directly to the theater opening night and then wake me up five before showtime.
Its like that South Park where Cartman gets impatient waiting for the Wii to come out so he freezes himself in a block of ice only to wake up a thoasand years in the future.

Karl Urban is talking about it too; he seems to think that filming will start early next year. Link.

Ah, the anticipation...

^ He says he's willing to stay past 2015, too. I think, until now, Pine was the only other one who said he would stay on past his current contract. There may be a very long run with this cast!

The plot is more of a mystery this time, we knew the first one had to be an origin story! I prefer non-origin stories!:bolian:

Q: Have you made any requests to the writers about where you want your character to go?
Urban: No, I think that they’re geniuses and you should just let them do what they do. I have officially thrown a genius label on them.

Well, there goes my excitement.

Not a spoiler fan; I'm already on email notification only for the Chris Pine thread. Be back in a couple years. ;)

I could have stayed unspoiled if I'd exerted more self-discipline. Even being in threads here (that didn't announce SPOILERS) wouldn't have ruined things.

Me too! Sayonara, suckas!

Hm, I think the only thing for which I was spoiled was the Uhura/Spock romance because I actively searched out information regarding the person who had thrown her arms about Spock in the trailer. But that just made me look forward to the movie even more :D. I think I can probably remain relatively unspoiled this time around.
