Section 31: I hope it still happens.

If the writers decide to go that direction, I would definitely give it a shot. But nothing in Discovery to date has given me any hope that they want or are capable of going in that direction.
Well, are the writers of Section 31 the same? Seems rather early (and harsh) to say, Nope, nay never.*

*slight hyperbole for fun.

*shrugs*

I doubt it, but that's me.

The announcement of the Section 31 show’s existence was made last January, and while there have been comments made in various interviews since that a pilot story treatment was in the works from showrunners Bo Yeon Kim and Erika Lippoldt — both part of the Discovery writing staff since Season 1 — today’s interview is the first time we’ve heard that a writers room has been put together for full script development.

The article is from late-2019, but there's no indication there have been any changes.

Back in April, Yeoh told Newsweek that Section 31 would be “more fun — less intense and more fun-driven. Visiting more planets. Going around rescuing people in our own way,” and Kurtzman shared his own thoughts on how the show is shaping up.

Doesn't really sound like they're going to dig too deep into her background as Space Hitler.

Fair enough. However, I will remain optimistic. Largely because I believe that the writers could do a lot more in exploring the character as a main character, like they have done with Burnham. But, I'm that weird guy who believes that Burnham showed good character development.

Section 31’s plans have changed considerably since 2019.

For starters, both Bo Yeon Kim and Erika Lippoldt have left to work on Sweet Tooth for Netflix, and Craig Sweeney took their place as S31’s showrunner/creative head.

In the novels, Trip Tucker faked his death to serve with Section 31 during the Romulan War.

Georgiou, Section 31 badass, was last seen entering a time portal.

Just sayin'

lol

If we do get a Section 31 show, I'd love it to bring back that "Context is For Kings" vibe. A crew that dislikes and distrusts each other, openly. Mysteries on board that need investigating.

They Flanderized the ever-loving hell out of Discovery since then.

Its not like there many options for known Section 31 agents to return if they are being brought back.

After ENT S4
After DIS S2
After DS9 S7/ During LD/The hypothetical DS9 S8
Around STID in the Kelvinverse, as that universe has its own Section 31
