Oh I agree, but that was their words in some interview awhile back.I'm not sure that works.

That's the goalEnjoy
Stacy Slater's bruvvah gets around these days. (One for 30+ Brits there)
Exactly. A trailer is purpose-built to try and entice someone into watching the product. The movie might be good, but this trailer makes it look absolutely awful. The purpose of a trailer is to get people excited to see something. This didn't do that for me. The trailer was awful IMO. Movie could be good. I have seen bad trailers that ended being good movies. But since I was never a fan of this main character or how S31 was portrayed on Discovery , I'm not holding my breath. I will give it a shot though.
I had no expectations on what this would or would not be.
I like it, because it's so different. It's Star Trek, but different than regular Star Trek.
I like a lot of modern Trek but this trailer does look really terrible. It looks like Suicide Squad and not the good one made by James Gunn. Nothing wrong with escapism. I love the Abrams movies. But this movie doesn't even look like it's pretending to be connected to Trek in anyway. Yet it also doesn't look like it's trying to be original in any substantive way either. It's the same bloated Marvel like over reliance on CGI and snarky characters with zero story.
So should we just not talk about it until then? Now, I agree, that this FIRST LOOK WITHOUT CONTEXT doesn't thrill me. But let's see what the full trailer will give us when it drops.
So should we just not talk about it until then?
Okay, good.Ofcourse we can talk about it
What are we supposed to judge it on other than that?but there's already so much judgement of a 90 minute movie based on 2 minutes of out of context material.
Best of luck on your journey. That's the goal
