Interesting that they're doing flashbacks to her childhood, must be important to the story.

Rachel Garrett seems to be there to keep them in line.

That was not great. I'm not sure I want to have an open mind about this project but my enthusiasm since that variety article has kind of dropped after seeing this trailer.

That was about what I expected for a first trailer. All action, flash and bang, while making sure everyone in the world knows Michelle Yeoh is in a Star Trek film, while being as un-Star Trek like as possible.

Future trailers or teasers will no doubt be released that will appeal more to to fandom, but this trailer was definitely made for general audiences.

Yeah, yeesh. I'm generally pretty positive on new Trek but this wasn't a good trailer and the live-action comedy announcement isn't my cup of tea (I'll still tune in so hey).

That looked like a trailer for some generic Netflix movie of the week that gets a big actor but just ends up being forgotten almost immediately (remember that movie with Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson? Its a good example of what I'm talking about). It feels like something that would have been cancelled if Yeoh hadn't won an Academy Award, as it is just like with Disco post Season 2 I'll be giving this a total skip.

Star trek Beyond had a horrible trailer but was an excellent movie, it also happened to have competent writers and people in charge which this Section 31 thing definitely doesn't.
