It looks like it will start filming in December.

While some here seem surprised at that possibility, there are actually many productions already filming after the strike.

Interesting, the DGC site has Section 31 (DOVERCORT) under Shooting Now. Must be an error, because Pre-Production just started.

Here's the info sheet for Section 31

Having just finished Discovery, I've been wondering since S3, do we have any idea yet what time period Georgiou was sent back to?

Would she be able to keep low enough in the SNW era to avoid being seen by anyone?

No. My guess would be 23rd century, possibly early 24th.

Probably. She might operate inside Klingon and other powers spheres of influence or on borders.

No clues were given as I recall
They mentioned the closer to her original time period, the better; and all the rumors for the Section31 series had it set in the 23rd century
(And they say the script of the Section 31 film now being shot is still based off the pilot script they had when developing the series.)

I do wonder if, her returning with future knowledge, coupled with the already disgraced status of S.31 over the Control affair, are the drivers of their all but disappearing underground and whether the series is literally the rebuild of the organisation in its quantum form. It would converge closer toward, but not quite dovetail with, how they were described by Sisko in DS9.

Carl said that he sent her back to a point in time where the two timelines were still relatively similar. Judging from what we saw in ENT, that would be before the middle of the 21st century (or even the 20th, if the opening credits to "In A Mirror Darkly" are any indication.) Not that I think the producers of the Section 31 movie have any intention of being consistent with that, or even with what Carl said.

It will be interesting what "when the Mirror Universe and the Prime Universe were more aligned. So you won't fall apart, atomically speaking." What Carl say was vague enough that being consistent is a non-issue.

Yes, I agree that his lines are vague, which was probably intentional. To me, though, 'aligned' indicates that there is little to no difference between the two universes. Of course, the IRL factor is budget, so I'm guessing that either we will see Georgiou in the 23rd century using SNW assets, or we will see her in a contemporary 21st century setting so that little to no futuristic sets, props, costumes, etc. will be needed.

To me, aligned simply means events are closely enough mirrored that they still have similar structure and people and events. But, after the Terran rebellion it diverged further and people from Prime Timeline would not have mirror counterparts the same way as ENT, DSC, TOS and DS9 did.

But, that's pure speculation. It looks to be entertaining regardless and I look forward to seeing it.

I imagine we’ll get the section 31 movie before SNW S3
It films from Jan 29th to at least March 13th. So a month and a half.

Most likely a trailer at comic-con in July.

They could perhaps do some sort of tie-in (IE one SNW S3 episode) with the Section 31 film too. <--- But that would require some coordination WRT post production schedules and expected air dates.

But in the end, we'll all see it and debate what they did regardless. ;)

I wonder where Harlan Ellison’s Guardian of Forever deposited Empress Georgiou for this movie? Obviously in to the hands of Section 31… but *when* exactly? A time travelling Section 31 agent from an alternate reality could prove problematic within the Time War… an unpredictable variable.
