News Season 4 Official Teaser

Right?

Captain Kirk, Spock, Bones and Ensign Smith beam down to a planet. Gee, I wonder which three will make it back to the ship alive?
Smith survives...for reasons

The dino is the thing I'm interested in. What could that be about? Time travel to our dinos, leaving tech there by accident, stepping on a butterfly, leading to the Voth? Or is this the origin of the Gorn? Could this actually be the Gorn queen? :D
I'm going to play devil's advocate and say it's from the puppet episode. It'll be a modern Shore Leave planet or another Trelane prequel, someone wishes everyone was a puppet so they become puppets for awhile. Someone wishes it was Jurassic Park so a t-rex appears.

Yeah, but are we gonna see Sybok this season or what? Jeez.
There are still some timeline questions about Sybok that could be interesting to dive into. Obviously he's gone by the time Burnham is adopted in 2236 and Spock is very young at that point probably less than 10 years old so Sybok was barely an adult when he was declared v'tosh ka'tur and disowned entirely. Making him what 10 years older than Spock assuming he was sent away almost immediately before they adopted Burnham.

I guess Sybok's emotional indulgences didn't include empathy since they felt a human sibling would offer that. Maybe the decision to adopt Burnham was to undo some of the damage Sybok did and Spock's initial rejection of her was because they just took his brother away.

I meant will the show make her Sybok's daughter (the Vulcan half of her heritage) - and Spock perhaps is keeping that a secret. (I did know already about her mixed heritage.)

I mean Sybok's...is that the next retcon?
For a retcon, Savick's lineage would have to be stated somewhere on screen in an episode or film.

Canonically, in that respect she's a 'blank slate'.
(And as mentioned earlier by someone in the Novelization of STII: TWoK it's said she's a Vulcan/Romulan hybrid; but yeah, even if it's in the book, if it wasn't specified on screen, it's not canon.

Thus it's not a 'retcon' , it's a establishment of a not known before fact.
