Spoilers Season 2 Preview Images and Videos Thread

Spock cuts himself with a table knife at dinner with T'Pring.

T'Pring: Your blood is red, not green like it should be.

Spock: Fascinating.

Not sure about the trailer, to be honest. Looks a bit silly and I don't (yet) buy the concept that Spock would lose all his cool just because he's rid of his Vulcan half. But I hope the episode will be able to sell me on the idea.

Either way I'm glad both Gia Sandhu and Mia Kirshner are back as T’Pring and Amanda, as I think they are just perfectly cast. Also: It's a minor thing, but from the preview images I'm already in love with that gorgeous costume they made for T’Pring.

M'Benga: So Spock, you're back to being half-Vulcan and all is right in the galaxy again.

Pike: Just one question remains though. The probability of this being a genuine accident is 0.002%. Who could have done this?

(elsewhere)

Sybok: This plan of yours has failed. I should tell T'Pring all about what you did to Spock, Stonn!

Stonn: She wouldn't believe you anyway.

Pikes wraparound looks like it’s made of vinyl or leather. Doesn’t look as comfortable as Kirks.
It's one of my few criticisms of the costumes in the current era - too much leather. I find it kind of weird for the Vulcans especially because they (supposedly) eschew killing for meat so unlikely they'd be big into leather jackets, but then, I'm really good at explaining such things away - if they eat meat it's lab grown. Likewise leather.

Spock and Sarek in new Trek are basically Anakin and Grievous in the Clone Wars tv show. Increasingly absurd circumstances are made to keep them apart, culminating in Grievous literally being right next to Anakin in a prisoner exchange, with continuity just *barely* holding because Anakin is unconscious and the shot shows that Grievous doesn't turn his head to look at him. You can't even make this stuff up.

Nope.

It really doesn't. And it blows my mind that it continues to be maligned.

As well as ruining the franchise.

And destroying childhoods, of course.

At first blush, and only based on the trailer, I'm almost equating Spock's (over) reaction to becoming human to Data's first dance with his emotion chip. All of a sudden Spock has this flood of emotions and his system can't process them properly. So they become exaggerated (and probably very silly). But we also see him rage out, so he's obviously in a lot of pain, internally.

I'm SO looking forward to this episode.

I'd think it would be a weakening of emotions, and so him letting go of the strict system of control he has used most of his life.

I see that SNW is continuing the tradition of weirdly huge flashlights in the future.
I mean, I use my weirdly huge flashlight as a weapon in a pinch. Or a lightsaber.

But, yes, that is quite a large flashlight. Maybe it has a longer power pack?
