Searching for a First Contact poster

Lego Thrawn

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
So I used to own a poster just like this one, but it was lost in the last move I made. It is a First Contact poster with the 1701-E and the crew at the bottom. I have been scouring ebay and looking all over for another one, but so far cannot find one. This picture I grabbed from someone's Facebook post, is the only other time I've seen one. IIRC, I got my original one at the Pasadena convention in the 1990's. Anyway, does anyone here know where I can buy a new one? Why is this one particular poster so rare?

Don't think I've ever seen that particular poster before, might in fact be rare.

Try Ebay.

Tried ebay, to no avail... tried various permutations of search keywords and such. I don't understand it... it's like this poster has dropped off the face of the Earth... there's no evidence of it existing, lol.

That's because the Enterprise and her crew traveled back in time and messed with the timeline. Now that poster doesn't exist anymore.

This what you're looking for? ;)

It's on the wall behind me right now. I'd offer to sell it to you, but it's slightly torn at the bottom from my pre-framing poster days, lol.

That said, the poster you're after does exist - obviously. I have seen it for sale on-line within the past... 5 years? But where/when I can't be sure.

I'm good at finding stuff, so let me do some digging, maybe I can come up with something. ;)

Yup! That's the one! Thanks! Yeah, I've searched high and low, scoured Google images and ebay, to no avail. I'd appreciate anything you can do to help!

Wow I've never seen that poster before! I think it really highlights the next level of The Next Generation era: new ship, new uniforms, new hair, new eyes for Geordi and a few more character lines across the board.

I have a generic pre-release First Contact poster laminated on the wall behind me, with the 11.22.96 date across the bottom, and a same but smaller, genuine cinema-used one rolled up and stored away safe. I remember seeing it up in cinemas mid-1996 and staring at the new ship, not being able to contain my curiosity about it. I remember the straight nacelle pylons concerning me, though, as the Galaxy class pylons were rounded. Strange what we recall from our younger years.

2373 sure was a good year, the best in my opinion. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the one in the OP.

I truly do not understand how or why this poster is so rare.

If I remember correctly, it was one of those "not a real movie poster" move posters you find at K-Mart, Wal-Mart, so on and so forth. To my best recollection, that is where/when I bought it - when the film was new and I was bored in Wal-Mart while my mom was shopping, looking through the posters and bam... saw this, bought it.

As a result of it not being an "official movie poster" it is thus, rare. Which is problematic, isn't it?

I'm going to try to remember to take a good HQ shot of it when the sun is out soon, and if I can get a good enough visual, I might be able to run it through an image search based on the actual photo.

I do know I've seen it out there for sale, but where/when it... no clue.

Thanks. :)

I would assume that one can still find them for sale at conventions, but then again, the last time I was at one was in the mid-90's, so who knows, lol.

FC was sort of the TMP of the TNG movies - TNG reimagined for the big screen

Afraid I've come up blank. Which should say something, as I do know a thing or two about finding stuff most folks can't... *cough, TrekCore's rare photos, cough* and... yeah. I'm coming up empty all around. Which does not bode well, imho. :S

Hmmm... does the poster have a publisher's name or something on it anywhere? Maybe I could do a Google search for the company?
