Scubs is ending...

Apparently...on NBC tonight. I haven't seen any press on this outside of a promo about 10 minutes ago. It just said the "Scubs finale", not season or series.

So, let's discuss NBC's Scrubs finale here...when it airs in a bit.

I thought it was renewed for another partial season in order for the series to have closure? Did that already happen?

EDIT: Is it moving over to another network? They seem to be filming 18 additional episodes...

Yes, NBC wants it ended, but it is made by Touchstone(ABC production company). It will almost definitely air on ABC next year so long as NBC doesn't find a legal way to stop them.

They showed the "Fairytail" episode as the finale..even though it was clearly produced for earlier in the season..because Kelso was still there as the Boss..so I guess NBC just wanted it gone and slaped last show on it....got to love the respect they give a show that aired for 7 seasons by not even allowing them to have a proper send off(Yea I know the strike screwed things up too..but still)...maybe ABC will be kinder.

I was also really confused about Kelso being back in this episode. NBC shouldn't of used this episode as the finale if it was intended for earlier in the season when Kelso was still the chief of medicine.

I guess they decided to use a standalone episode as the "finale", even though it's not really a finale.

Scrubs will be returning for 18 episodes in a 8th and final season on ABC, however the date is unknown.

Kelso was in the episode due to it being filmed before the Kelso leaving episode and NBC thought it would make a better season finale/NBC series finale.

have to admit the episode is very good and according to Zach Braff the most expensive episode of Scrubs. The DVD set will most likely correct the episode order error.

It was an okay if rather lame episode, but I was very confused by Kelso's presence, and it was certainly not worthy of being a finale for Scrubs. I would have taken Kelso's final episode "My Dumb Luck" as a much better ending. The love train was one of the best fantasies JD has had. :techman:

I look forward to the final 16-18 episodes to air on ABC in 2008/2009. The guy behind Scrubs has said he will focus more of the drama that the early seasons had.

That episode was not written as a season finale, its just NBC didn't want to do anymore episodes and put that one there. The real finale out of what we got written was last weeks but NBC wanted to put it out of order.

So give the writers a flippin fair chance and judge the episode on it's own merit and not as a season finale. Overall the episode was new, original and quite funny and you know the actors enjoyed doing the whole fairytale plot.
