Scruffy-looking untitled Han Solo film thread

Cool. Even if the Holiday Special was scary bad, I still like the idea of Chewie having a family. I liked them in the Legends books when they popped up.

Michael Kenneth Williams talks about the character he was going to play before being recast for reshoots by Paul Bettany.

Williams appeared on Sirius XM’s Jim and Sam show Tuesday and talked about how his character Dryden Vos, who he described as “half mountain lion, half human,” (we’re not sure if we should take that literally, by the way) would have challenged the dynamic between Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich, and Qi’Ra, played by Emilia Clarke.

“He was extremely sophisticated. Very rich. He’d been around the world, older guy, and it was sort of a love triangle between Emilia Clarke’s character, Qi’Ra and the young Han Solo,” Williams said.

“Not where it was overtly a love triangle but there was definitely a pissing contest going on for the girl’s attention,” Williams continued. “And [Vos] is old and [Han] is younger so it was that thing also going on, like ‘Young buck, I’ve been around the world.’ But he’s like ‘The young chick wants the young buck.’ So there was a little bit of that energy going on. But the relationship on paper was definitely with Qi’Ra and Han Solo.”
I'm still bummed out his involvement wasn't retained, but it looks like he has no hard feelings about it, understanding how weird the whole situation was.

Well, to be fair Bail Antilles (the Senator from Alderaan mentioned in TPM) wasn't related to Wedge Antilles, either. Bail was probably retconned to become Bail Organa in AOTC unless he was meant to be his predecessor in the Senate and just happened to have the same first name.

It does make me wonder if Captain Antilles of the Tantive IV is a relative of Senator Bail Antilles and Jimmy Smits inherited the services of the good Captain when he became Senator.

In Legends, Bail Antilles and Bail Organa are indeed two different people, and a quick look on Wookieepedia confirms that is still the case in canon material.

I'm still kind of amazed how many pictures like that Lucasfilm and Disney have actually allowed up to post.

Why?

This form of "soft" marketing is a brilliant way to bring things to fans attention and increase the "buzz" around a production.

I imagine it can also allow a production to drive the narrative and not speculative click-shite sites.

This is going to be a trainwreck from everything I've heard, and man, that alone is as entertaining as Star Wars gets for me these days. I'm looking forward to discussions.

#TeamShia

I wholly disagree. Shia LeBouf doesn't belong in people's minds anymore, from everything I now know about him. He's utterly psychotic and deranged.
