Scruffy-looking untitled Han Solo film thread

I always figured a cargo pod would "plug" into that centre section. Just a matter of what the pod looks like.

That is what I have assumed for 30+ years. Thought cargo containers and such plugged in there for transport, playing TIE Fighter (and X-Wing Alliance) only sparked that theory more.

Maybe Lando, or Han took off the covering to accomodate the concussion missle launcher.

The Haynes Millennium Falcon owners manual shows a variant that looks a lot like that, including the filled in gap.

I wonder if they were inspired by that book.
Since the YT-1300 is supposed to be a highly modular design, again according to that book, I can only hope so. That is one of my favorite variants, followed by the armor variant.

I'm aware that it is a cargo pusher but since the Falcon never that purpose, the design still annoys me.

As a 10 year old in 1977, I always thought one of these, with the extra part torn out, look really familiar.

Am I the only one who thinks Quentin Tarantino would actually be a better fit for the Han Solo prequel than a Star Trek movie?

It wouldn't be a Han Solo movie Disney would ever allow, but still...
That would be awesome!
So, once again the leaked "not official" artwork is official artwork...

Reminds me of the leaked "not official" Klingon ships concept art and the leaked "not real" Klingons-lunch-break photo.
So I guess the artwork is real then.

It’s not called a YT-1300 Light Freighter for nothing.

That piece of art isn't canon. However the prongs were described as being part of the cargo hauling part.

According to the lore the YT-1300 was designed to be modular, for their owners to modify in different ways.

For all we know the changes in the Solo movie were done by Lando or someone else before Han got the ship.

Now, this image below isn't canon anymore, but it does give an idea of what could be. They have been recycling a lot of stuff from the EU, so this could be one of the things.

Looks like they took the cockpit of the Ebon Hawk and stuck it in the middle.

Which is kind of what they did the the Smuggler's ship in SWTOR

Yeah, kind of like that. I've seen a lot of different variants, but the centerline cockpit appeals to me the most. The Haynes manual, canon or not, has some great ideas for configurations.

The Ghost in Rebels is also a Corellian freighter, albeit a smaller model. But it does have its own unique design that reminds me a lot of the customized YT-1300 from Star Wars Galaxies posted above.
