Scruffy-looking untitled Han Solo film thread

If I must be frank, the older I get, the harder it is for me to accept Han Solo as a serious character. In the past ten years or so, I have regarded him as a bit of a man child. So a Han Solo movie with heavy humor doesn't seem upsetting to me.

I've always felt that way. I prefer the term though of "lovable rogue" myself. For me I think the humor should come from the banter between Solo and Londo. Chewbacca always is good for a site gag and a reaction shot. Not sure about the newer characters and what they will add.

Things I expect to see is the Kessel Run and the card game were Londo losses the ship to Solo. I guess Jabba will be in it as well and I wouldn't be shocked to see Bubba Fett and someone's got to make fun of the now legendary issue of Han shooting first in some way.

Now I'm picturing a Billy Dee with Centauri hair and a redneck bounty hunter.

I just got home from seeing Baby Driver. The lead, Ansel Elgort, was among the actors being considered for the role of Han Solo before the part went to Alden Ehrenreich. While I'm sure Ehrenreich will do well, after seeing Elgort in Baby Driver I think he would have made an excellent Han, too.

I kind of like the idea of the actor who played Supergirls boyfriend last season in the role. I forget the characters name. He has the looks and the ability to be both sincere and a cad.

Vader seeing that ship even earlier would possibly be out of place once it lands on the Death Star. But the YT-1300 is suppose to be common as dirt, even though we have only seen one really in canon. On the other hand, having seen this ship because would tell towards his deciding to send in a scanning team enough though the report that is was abandoned with the escape pods launched.

Well, as the article notes, Spencer Wilding has played other characters in the Star Wars properties so this doesn't automatically mean he's Vader. But I agree that Vader shouldn't be in this film.

My money is on him playing a Wookie. One imagines there's more than just Chewbacca in this movie, given Han's upbringing (at least in most versions of it.)

Spencer Wilding in the cast does not necessarily mean he'll be Vader in the movie. After all, he's done three characters in Doctor Who, plus one in the spin-off Class, and they're all unrelated. The dude is tall, so yeah, he seems a good choice for a Wookiee.

I really hope Wilding is a Wookie and not Vader. I like Vader, but I'd hate to see him become the Wolverine or Batman of the Star War universe.
It made sense for him to be in Rogue One, but I can't really see him being necessary in movie focused on Han's backstory.

I'm growing to be tired of Vader popping in, so I'm really hoping he's not in this film.
