Is it computer graphics and 3 d printing?
Awsome looking stuff though even if I'm not sure what I'm looking at!![]()
First, I've had an Akita/Alaskan Malamute mix, and he led to our getting a purebred Akita once Oreo died. Obi (Obi-Wan, my Brother named her) was her name. They were both among the best dogs I've ever known.
About the shuttle...that's all digital. It's a 3d model rendered (computed by the software and hardware) using software that uses Physically-Based light and material algorithms to give photorealistic results.
In this particular case, the modeler was 3ds Max by Autodesk and the rendering software was Iray+ by Nvidia.
The most recent image of the TMP chair backs is also 3ds Max, but the renderer is V-Ray by Chaos Group. The reason I switched the rendering software is that V-Ray is more universal, and I'm hoping to sell some digital models on sites like Turbosquid and CGTrader.
The rank pins that I've posted (like in my Avatar) are also all digital, rendered in iRay, which is different from Iray+ and is built into 3ds Max but uses the same concept. They will eventually be 3d printed and cast in silver, brass, and bronze.
Count me as a fan. The various wall greebles help break up what was otherwise a somewhat monotonous space, and shifting the science station allowed for better two-shots of Kirk & Spock without resorting to awkward angles or dramatic chair swiveling. So do I. I'm not sure how popular my opinion on the TWOK enhancements, but I do think they were an improvement on an already astounding design aesthetic.
Well...other than the chair covers. Hated them.
She was still off to Kirk's left in TUC. But when Meyer reshuffled the bridge, he moved the turbolifts out to the sides, and shifted Science and Communications in. While it almost certainly violates the dimensions of the bridge dome as laid out in TMP, it lets you get this beautiful shot of everybody at the end of the film:

LOL he doesn't... He better Earn his spot. Also not too many Execs are just Execs...at least historically in Trek. Spock was the XO on the TOS Ent (pulled double duty)...That's why Kirk just doubled Decker's duty (and because he was getting pissy with Kirk).I'm not fussed about not getting everyone in shot. The TMP layout just feels functional. I'm not 100% sure where the exec officer sits though?
Well I suppose there are stations on the bridge that are clearly manned by standing crew and in most cases the xo and captain would not pull bridge duty together but even so, they should at least have a deck chair in a cupboard for him...LOL he doesn't...
