Much more accurate, and random.
Because Scottish secessionists are ridiculous. They already belong to the third greatest country in the world, are very close to being culturally and ethnically indistinct from them, and would not be very likely to set up an independent government that was virtually indistinguishable from its present position within the United Kingdom.

If I had any kind of artistic skills, I could add a skull in the middle, like Deckerd suggested. That would be awesome.![]()
I'm just saying, Scoland shouldn't be allowed to keep the Queen because she has all the fire power. - They should just shut up and focus on unifying the nation.
It's a nice sentiment, but does it really work when one country in the union is so clearly dominant? If the Scottish government wants to raise an issue with the EU but the British government does not, Scotland gets ignored. Be it domestic issues such as privatisation of services, or international issues such as war, England can easily override Scottish objections.Am sure the people who find themselves worser off will disagree. Scotland is still a country just like Wales and Northern Ireland, the UK makes us stronger but were still our own countries.
It would certainly have an interesting effect on unionism in NI as many of them are descended from Scots. I'm not convinced it would lead to a rise in Irish nationalism.Squiggy said:And if Scotland goes, would Irish reunification become more likely, a Balkanization of the Isles?
You mean Scotland should undergo war, civil war, partition, decades of discrimination and terrorism? No, I think a simple democratic referendum is probably better. As for the bailout issue, I'm trying not talk about that as it annoys some German posters here. How dare he, only way Scotland should be inderpendent is if they did it like Ireland! - Become their own nation and ask for a bail out!

What "fire power" does the Queen have? And how would Scotland leaving an deciding to keep the Queen be that different than Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Jamaica, etc.
And if Scotland goes, would Irish reunification become more likely, a Balkanization of the Isles?
