Say something POSITIVE about your least favorite Trek show / season / episode / character …

Out of all the new trek I've only seen a bit of discovery so I don't feel qualified to speak on it at all. That being said I’ll keep it to the shows because I’m most familiar with them:
Least fav: TNG. They really elevated danger of the week stuff from TOS and of course Data is such an interesting and well done character. Him and Geordi’s friendship is one of the best in trek.
Favorite trek: DS9. Ezri. I probably don’t need to elaborate but I will anyway lol. Nicole deBoer did a great job with the roll she was given, Ezri just felt lazy and transparent. The writers did try to make her feel fleshed out and integrated but it just ended up feeling rushed and forced. That whole mess was just really unfortunate for everyone involved.

It’s hard for me to say what my least favourite Trek show is because broadly speaking, I enjoy the lot.

So, I’ll go by what’s my least favourite in this particular moment and it’s… Picard.

So, even though it’s bottom of the pile:

1) It starts well (I think the first 6-7 episodes are great.

2) No matter what, it is nice to see the cast of TNG (along with the likes of De Lancie, Goldberg, Forbes, Wheaton etc.) back.

We are lucky in TNG where we don’t have a B5/DS9 situation where key-cast members have passed. Call it memberberries, but it was nice to see everyone again.

3) The theme tune, different in every season, is really nice.

Voyager was never my cup of tea, and I thought they kinda squandered their original premise.

But I really love Robert Picardo’s and Jeri Ryan’s performance in many of the episodes.

I’ve always thought this is one of the most romantic things Trek has ever done, and I love their chemistry.

If a Legacy series does ever happen, I would love a scene where they’re reunited and have a dance.

The Doctor and Seven singing together is very, very possibly my favourite Star Trek scene ever.

I have not seen anything past 'Voyager' except maybe one or two of 'Enterprise' because of a friend. So, it's 'Voyager.' i haven't seen it all the way through yet but it isn't up there with the other treks that's why I am choosing it. But I'll give the show a positive statement as they have very interesting character concepts. I will make up my mind later on to whether it's good or not when I've finished the series.

I agree about Voyager. A really interesting bunch of characters.

I didn’t say anything negative about my favourite, so: TOS:

It’s stagey and slow. At best shallow in its politics, at worst offensive. It is in every regard, for better or worse, a product of its time.

I didn't read the OP's post all the way through, I guess. My fave is TNG and the not so positive is that they can be snobs at times with other alien cultures. Or people/others they can't understand (Re: Barclay, Data).

Then I'll go one step further... "Code of Honor".

Yes, the casting choices for the Ligonians was really bad, BUT... Jessie Lawrence Ferguson was really great in it. Commanding and devious presence. He elevated every scene he was in. And we have the Geordi shaving scene. You see why him and Data are best friends with scenes like this. I can never speak ill of scenes like that because they are not only great friendship moments but are important for Data as a character.

The scenes help Geordi be more developed as well. Even better, given how he has Engineering knowledge, is seen in Engineering half the time in season 1 anyway, works with constructed mechanical/technical things all the time. But he treats Data as a real being and not a thing to overclock to get 2% more efficiency from the engines. That's pretty darn huge. Especially when so many otherwise equate Data as a toaster. The juxtaposition is beautiful.

Plus, yup, Jessie had a commanding and gravitas-driven presence on screen. I've seen him in other things and, yeah, to say "definitely was a great actor" is an understatement. Should have done a lot more and considering everything he was in - moderate but not many, sadly, he was a very underrated and talented actor. He, and Stewart, elevated clunky and inconsistent material. Two actors who are of rare caliber. Everyone else was there and doing it, true, but Jessie and Patrick both went the extra mile and it shows.

I am glad they changed the opening theme music for "Enterprise".
I am glad they cast Scott Bakula as Captain Archer.
