My first fav role of his is Cmdr Shren in Star Trek Enterprise. Bcs he was one of those ''Vegeta like'' characters. Tryed tb scary and a bit of a bad guy. But deep down he was an honorable good guy to the core who only wanted good things. Just packed with a slight anger management problem. But all around very funny. And always a face i was happy to see when he appeared.Who is your favorite Jeffrey Combs character, and why?
I'll start (I haven't watched Enterprise much, however, so I wouldn't know much about Shran):
1. Weyoun
A combination of charm and gaslighting + he truly believes in his questionable obedience. It reminds me of systemic manipulation in real life. He carries it almost adorably as well, which is refreshing. Weyoun 6 also shows more depth. It's interesting to see the clones evolve.
2. Penk:
Another mirror of society to me, turning exploitation into a performance/pleasure. It's how I’ve often observed cruelty getting disguised. He’s also hard to dislike on top of it, which only adds to that reflection.
3. Agimus:
Parody/satire of the rogue AI archetype.
4. I also love his portrayal of Liquidator Brunt.
My 2nd choice is also Liquidator Brunt. For obvious reasons.
My 3rd choice is Weyun. Eapecially since there where several versions of him he could play him in every possible way imaginable. Even as Federation sympatizer in one iteration. It was a brilliant concept for a role.
But having chosen those 3 as my favorites i must still say that he exelled in every role he took on. Those 3 where just the ones i loved the most.
