Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman to star in Deadpool III (2024)

Am I the only one who thinks Lady Deadpool isn't going to be Taylor Swift or anyone famous and will just be Ryan's head CGI'd onto some random extra's body?

Definitely won't be Taylor Swift since they've already confirmed she's not in it (and her playing Dazzler was the popular theory/fancasting).

As for Lady Deadpool, I'm sure you're not the only person to think it'll just be Ryan Reynolds (CGI or just a wig). Doesn't really matter to me.

That popular theory I heard a little while ago was that it will be Ryan Reynold's Mrs., Blake Lively.
I think they will combine Rich and JD's idea... Blake Lively's body (and maybe voice) but Ryan's face (or whole head).

I don't get it, why are folks fine with Laura being the MCU Wolverine but got mad when Sam became the new Cap or thought Jane would be Thor's successor?

First, were there A LOT of people who were mad? I sure wasn't.... and in fact thought Endgame was enough and did NOT need the TV show to "prove" Sam's worthiness (though I DID appreciate it).

And are we sure she is the new MCU Wolverine, and not a cameo?

And didn't this news JUST come out? Doesn't it take at least 24 hours for the momentum to build? People not paying attention to an obscure post In order to blow it up to I famy?

Again, you're assuming all of those people are the same. I, for one, am happy with all three of them.

And as Morpheus 02 noted, the news just broke. There hasn't been enough time for any potential backlash to occur even here. To get worked up about a controversy that hasn't even happened yet (however ridiculous it would be and it would be ridiculous) is just plain silly.

They're going all in on this one because they really need it to be a massive hit. The MCU brand has taken a lot of chinks in its armor post-Endgame.

One thing I got out of this, Ryan says he thinks the pause for the strikes helped the film. It let them stop and think about everything they’ve already done. Dogpool was also not part of the film before the strikes.

Also the Marvel Jesus line was written a while ago it wasn’t in reaction to the recent down turn of the marvel movies.

According to Levy, shunning traditional cameos was a limitation that he placed on himself and his creative team to stop his film from losing focus.

The film has many surprises, but as they placed potential names on the drawing board one rule was written above them: “Never let temptation supersede storytelling.”

“When you have an unlimited database of available weaponry, it's exciting, and it's overwhelming,” Levy explains. “You need some discipline. You need to only integrate things or characters that serve this story. And that’s why we don't call them cameos. They're more surprises – they’re characters that are surprising.”

That is so pedantic. "There are no cameos, only "surprises" "

To be clear I want cameos and 100% support them, renaming them to try to stop some of the online whining from MCU haters (who don't matter anyway) is just silly. A cameo is a cameo. Just based off of the trailer I can think of several "surprise characters" that aren't surprises, yet are still cameos.

Maybe.... or maybe the difference between a cameo and a "surprise" is that the cameo could èausly be cut out and no big deal. The surprise might be that they are reverent to the actual movie storyline, or even the MCU later on?

Variery reports that Marvel planted fake cameos to protect to the real ones. Ryan Reynolds confirms that Taylor Swift is definitely  not in the film.

“I can neither confirm nor deny any cameos in this film but I will say, in terms of characters that may or may not appear, it was always important to us that nothing in this movie feels like a gimmick,” [executive producer Wendy] Jacobson added. “Anyone showing up has a crucial story purpose or a beginning, middle and end as a character arc. It was definitely a collaborative process of seeing who fit in and who didn’t.”

One potential cameo that continues to draw buzz on social media involved Taylor Swift, who some fans theorize will show up as either Lady Deadpool or the mutant Dazzler (a role she was allegedly circling in the “X-Men: Apocalypse” days). The “Deadpool & Wolverine” team have frequently shut down the rumor, and Reynolds recently told E! News: “I will say once and for all that the cameo thing with Taylor, because she’s our friend — that is not in this film.”
