Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

For what it's worth, if NPH is playing the Celestial Toymaker as is rumored (and perhaps confirmed?), then there's the possibility that Jodie's Doctor did regenerate into Gatwa, but due to the Toymaker only looks like Tennant. The Toymaker having the ability to mess with the Doctor's appearance goes back to his very first appearance -- he made the Doctor invisible, and the producers considered using this trick to replace Hartnell. Personally, I think the fact that the Doctor's clothing changed during the regeneration, when it never has before, suggests that there's nothing normal about this regeneration.
I like that theory a lot. Such actions would demonstrate that the Celestial Toymaker is a dangerous threat to worry about.

In DWM, Murray teased that, throughout series 14, the theme song will change every week to fit the episode.[/SPOILER]
Oh, that's ambitious! I really hope that works out well.

Eh. Good for you, but for me, series 13 and its specials just wasn't it. Not that series 12 was, necessarily, but more than 13. Won't repeat why that was.

Hmm, perhaps this could explain the scene in the trailer where we see Gatwa wearing Tennant's current costume screaming "what the hell is going on?" That is, the Doctor could be very surprised to suddenly have a new appearance without actually having regenerated. Intriguing idea.

Details from Doctor Who Magazine

-Millie Kent and Sophie Ablett will join the cast for series 14
-Jinkx Monsoon appears in the second episode, which will be directed by Ben Chessel, it's said to be a musical and is penned by Russel
-The finale of series 14 will be shot as part of Production Block 5
-One episode title was heard in a line of dialogue in Star Trek: Picard's most recent season
-Russel says promotion will ramp up further after Comic Con season
-Murray Gold has finished the scores for special one and three, but hasn't begun on two yet
-New variations of Donna and The Tennant themes will be in the specials
-Series 14 is described in general as being a musical...probably because Monsoon might be in more than one episode
An episode title was spoken in dialogue in Picard S3? Please let it be "Dipshit From Chicago."

Hmm. the BBC just showed a trailer for the Specials "breaking in" to the middle of another trailer.

Someone's already translated the binary code to 7!@THE#!!'' ^@^@ STAR &% #(BEAST(*2''

"The Star Beast" was, of course, the comic story the Beep the Meep debuted in.

There's also reversed dialogue that when played the correct way has the Doctor saying, “Cryptic, I hate that" and Donna replying “Why did this face have to come back?”

It looks like more will be revealed on Eurovision night, which is the 13th of May...

Sounds like forward dialogue to me in the clip. Unless my brain automatically decodes reversed audio.

In other Who news, a very brief and cryptic teaser:

And speaking of cryptic, Davies teased "Oh, terrible things." in response to the official Doctor Who Instragram post about Donna's journey in the TARDIS theat concluded with the query of "What does the future hold?"
