The problem there is the central corridor. In the reality of the show, every time they opened the aft door of the front section, or the front door of the aft section, we saw a blank wall, not a corridor.
So the central module should be configured differently, at least in every episode where those doors were opened.
Another roughly similar problem is that when the runabout is docked to DS9 (or seen crashed like in "Hippocratic Oath"), they use the partial exterior set that features the starboard door and not much else. But when that door is opened, again a blank wall is often seen (because the partial exterior set doesn't have much in the way of interiors). In the original layout of the forward spaces, we could always say that this was the side wall of the transporter alcove. In the later layout where the transporters were moved back, we should have seen into the cabin, getting a nice side view of the standalone tactical console.
Oh, well. We can probably argue that all the runabouts for which we saw the side door open were of the older model.
