It's so weird that "Far Beyond The Stars" attributes the creation of a version of DS9 (a serial story in a magazine rather than a TV show) to someone entirely different and earlier than Star Trek, the franchise was. And it implies that version of DS9 therefore predated and existed apart from the real show's roots in TOS, TAS, and TNG. In that universe, did they come after DS9?

Not to be pedantic but I don't think there was an actual reality where Benny created DS9. Benny Russell was real as SNW confirms but it was just a Prophet induced hallucination. He wrote at least one Black-led fairytale so very likely suffered in the same way we saw.

I only realised later that Fadil and Visitor dated in real life. So the baby that Kira was having with Miles was in fact Siddig’s kid in real life.

It’s a funny old world, isn’t it?

I only realised later that Fadil and Visitor dated in real life. So the baby that Kira was having with Miles was in fact Siddig’s kid in real life.

And all of Kira's appointments and the conversations between Miles and Julian about the pregnancy were commentaries about Nana, Sid, and the baby.

Seems to me that “Far Beyond the Stars” (and for that matter, the later brief return of Benny Russell) were deliberately written in such a way that either interpretation works: it could be an induced vision, or it could be what Star Trek “actually” comes from. It’s said in-universe at some point in the “real” world that it was the former — but if the “real” world was really the fictional one, that’s what they would say, isn’t it?

Oh, yeah, they talked about that in the bonus features to the disc set. Visitor was very happy about not having to quit the show.

I was rewatching "SHADOWS AND SYMBOLS" recently, and it just occured to me possibly why Quark was such a jerk to Worf.

He was doing his interpretation of acting more Klingon by being more aggressive and posturing with his words because he knows some of the customs of Klingons due to his courting Grilka 2 years earlier.

He just came off more of an ass than anything, though.


(This is just a theory, of course. But the possibility only occured to me this time seeing it.)
