Morrissey is a pretty good actor. I'm not sure he's Doctor material, though.
I'd never seen the latter - cheers for that link. Though it's always odd hearing Tennant not being English outside of an interview. Or being Davina.

CheersI've been going very Sisko lately - though I can't seem to give up my 'shoes' Doctor Who icon on a wrestling forum.
And yeah, I hope your speculation on the Moffatisms are right. I actually enjoyed RTD's methods at first, but he just doesn't handle it well. Especially getting over excited and blowing the Master reveal.

Sisko is The Man! I'm one of those strange cats in the corner of the room that prefers DS9 over every other Trek. Just find it has more depth and realism, versus the wonderfully happy family of the 1701-D, and the 'workplace friends' of TOS.
This story will be a reflection for the Doctor on who he once was, and who he is now, taking up the theme of the revelation of the Doctor's true soul in the finale of Season 4.
Well, since this is Christmas in Victorian England, IMO, the key to which Doctor Morrisey is playing is to be found in Dickens Christmas Carol. It's perfectly logical.
IMO, we're looking a a time paradox. The tenth Doctor doesn't recognize him, Morrisey's Doctor doesn't recognize the tenth.
Why? Because Morrisey is the 9th Doctor that never was, the Tenth Doctor's Ghost of Christmas past, who the 8th Doctor would have become if the Time War had never happened. And the 10th Doctor is the Doctor that Morrisey's will never become - his ghost of Christmas future, the Doctor that is the product of the Time War. Together, they stand in each other's present - they are the Ghost of Christmas present.
This story will be a reflection for the Doctor on who he once was, and who he is now, taking up the theme of the revelation of the Doctor's true soul in the finale of Season 4.

As I'm on the same page, I tip my hat to you, sir. I'm not actually wearing a hat, but pretend I am![]()
Me too- seeing that very spoiler made me back away from the reports as it's the kind of thing I'd have preferred to be surprised by.

With much excitement, I toddled along to the press screening of the much-anticipated Doctor Who Christmas special this morning. There are a million and one questions surrounding 'The Next Doctor' - "is David Morrissey the successor of David Tennant?" being the chief curiosity - but in keeping with the spirit of things I'll leave that one firmly unanswered. Instead I offer you these ten tantalising teasers:
1. The mysterious Cybershades can jump quite high.
2. Neither the Doctor nor the Other Doctor recognise each other. But the latter doesn't remember much anyway.
3. There are two words that the Doctor never refuses.
4. The Other Doctor has a TARDIS - and it's magnificent.
5. For a while Rosita becomes the Doctor's companion (but then you'll know that already if you've read our interview with the lovely Velile Tshabalala).
6. The script includes the customary line "what about the children?"
7. At least one previous incarnation of the Doctor makes an appearance.
8. Miss Hartigan (Dervla Kirwan) is a very special lady.
9. The Other Doctor's fobwatch is a very important clue.
10. "I suppose ** *** ***, **** ***** ** *****."
