Following the USS Mississippi's first mission, Executive Orders, in which the
crew investigated a murder on a marine base, President Nanietta Bacco has
ordered the creation of Bama Fleet, a Starfleet Major Command that will aid
Starfleet in its mission of military investigations, trials, and medicial
support.

Borgata, a vacation paradise awaits as does a new style of Star Trek simming
that combines elements of the Good Wife, JAG, the Practice, Law & Order, Grey's
Anatomy, ER, etc. with the world of Star Trek.

As part of this fleet and crew, you'll have the chance to take command of the
Ole Miss one day as your predecessors are eventually promoted to various
positions within the fleet.

"Very aware, sir," the enlisted man replied.

The Ulysses is a prototype test-bed hull for the Sovereign and Defiant projects in the early to mid 2360's, deemed a failure the vessel was mothballed. However, over a decade after being discarded a sizeable refit began, replacing outdated prototype technologies with their modern counterparts. The Ulysses is a state of the art exploration and deterrence cruiser, with the comforts equal to or greater than that of a Galaxy class cruiser in a smaller hull.

The RPG itself has an age restriction of 18+, not due to specific content but as a general guideline for applicants. Feel free to browse the site and if you are so inclined to wish to apply to join the crew please feel free to JOIN US.

• All applicants must be of 18 years or more of age.​

• Applications for Ex-Borg, Non-Canon, Caitian or Q-like species will be denied. This is only a guideline and may occasionally span other races on a case to case basis.​

• The USS Ulysses exists in the Primary Universe of Trek (TOS to Nemesis), not the Star Trek 2009 Universe.​

​

• No novels/comics/publications are considered canon unless referenced/cleared by the Commanding Officer.​

​

• A player cannot impersonate, write for or otherwise make a decision in-character (IC) or out-of-character (OOC) for another players character (PC) or protected non-playing characters (PNPC) without approval of the player in ownership.​

​

• All players are required to compose one post a week unless otherwise cleared by the CO or XO or an LOA
  (leave of absence) or ELOA (extended leave of absence) form is submitted.​

​

• A joint-post counts as a full post for all authors.​

​

• A solo author post must be no less than 300 words in length.​

​

• A joint-post must be no less than 500 words in length.​

​

• Any decision made by the command staff or commanding officer is considered final in terms of any disputes.​

Now that we've got the formalities out of the way...we give a lot of freedom, within reason to develop your character and to all equally develop a mission as we play.

We are free-form in its fullest intent, like watching an episode of TNG we fly through space and an officer might read something on sensors; there's your mission. lets find out what it is, do you know? Tell me!

The characters aboard seem to be an oddly quirky bunch when considered next to the standard breed of starfleet officer.

Hence, we require a smarty pants and a psychiatrist to finish the formula.

APRIL REPORT

NEWS:

Hello everybody. As Commander Lashmore announced earlier, the Command Staff will be compiling months reports on the sim's progress. The reports will include:

- news
- a synopsis of what's been happening so far on the ship
- a selection of best quotes of the month, a fun little bit to remind us of what a great collection of writers we have

So, news for April

We have finished the month with an absolutely fantastic score for a beginning sim.

68 posts in April! 69 posts brought to us by our then 7 crew members. A fantastic score, and let's see if we can do just as well or if not better in May!

In other news, we have a new crew member aboard, Ensign Sylvi Vesala, played by our very own Gerard (you also know him as Lt.JG. Joshua Valentine, Chief Flyboy/Don Jesus). Gerard is now fully in charge of our Flight Control Department.


PREVIOUSLY ON USS ULYSSES:

Things start off in the manner that would depict and dictate further events on the Ulysses. Unusual...

Jack Lashmore, after months of idle task work and minor teaching lessons at the Academy is thrown the biggest curve ball of his life, a command of his own, something, considering his history, he never thought to have. Trying to clear his head that evening, he goes to pick up his date at the Special Diagnosis Unit of Starfleet Medical.

However, before managing to whisk his date away to dinner, or other encounter he had panned, the first unusual encounter takes place. Jack meets Torrna Maliya again, who is now working as part of the Special Diagnosis Team with Dr. Gordon House, and Jack and her hadn't seen each other for over half a year, since the USS Roanoke.

Tensions flare from Torrna and it's clear she is still angry with Jack for certain events in the past. Jack manages to talk her down, and make her the offer of a life time, to be his Executive Officer. After more talking, griping and general cautiousness, Maliya begrudgingly finally accepts, thus sealing her fate.

The two, in a more relaxed environment now, go to inspect their ship which is undergoing refit in the Utopia Planitia Shipyards. Unbeknownst to the two of them, they are about to be reunited with another person from their past on the Roanoke.

Whilst on their way to the Bridge, Torrna and Lashmore encounter the young woman would later come to be known as 'Blue girl', one Miranda Smart, an engineer who's been working on the refit. Impressed by the girl's attitude and demeanour, the new Command team offers Smart the position of Chief Engineer which she readily accepts.

Delan Hypori is in charge of the refits on the USS Ulysses and present on the Bridge when Lashmore and Torrna come up. Initially the reunion is tense and awkward for all three of them, and after sorting out some misunderstandings, Hypori submits his application for the position of Chief of Security/Tactical which Lashmore takes into consideration.

Things soon take off from this point on, Torrna moves into her new quarters with her pet cat Fayla. The first few day is filled with many meetings and what would later be known as 'War on Paperwork'. Maliya meets with the new pilot, Joshua Valentine, who is her first official meeting as Executive Officer. The meeting goes relatively well. Later in the day, both Jack and Maliya meet with yet another blast from the past (the USS Roanoke), Daniel Gibbs, and both get offered samples from Miri Smart's personal wine collection.

Crew interactions begin almost immediately, the tensions and connections immediately present. Miri Smart and Josh Valentine meet up in the shuttlebay and agree on a date almost immediately. Fun ensues on the date in a mix of a singing Viking mead hall and a dirt bike race. On the other side, Jack wakes up Maliya in the middle of the night and drags her off to the War Room where he had set up so they can work on paperwork faster. As they work and talk, it's revealed that there are still tensions between them which are pretty much left unresolved as work takes precedence.

With new marching orders, the crew manages to prepare everything for departure by 18:00 on Day 2. Torrna meets with Hypori, who is somewhat apprehensive initially, and discusses a task Hypori would undertake. Unusual continues as the new Chief Medical Officer arrives aboard at the last minute and nearly gets lost in the Transporter Pattern Buffer, but is saved by the timely arrival and expert skills of Miri Smart.

At 18:00 everything is ready and with crossed fingers, a lot of touching wood and a display of faith and skill, the USS Ulysses departs the Utopia Planitia docks under own power and goes to warp after clearing the Oort cloud. First stop, DS9 where they would pick any additional crew and supplies they need before proceeding to their planned staging area.

20:00, Day 2 - First Senior Staff meeting of the USS Ulysses. After some initial misgivings, Jack and Maliya are ready for their Department Heads. The ship is fully operational and ready for full service. The Ulysses mission will be as much that of exploration as it will be a role of a mediator, protector and scout in the area of space long thought unimportant and near forgotten since the last Starfleet presence there during the Dominion War.

After dismissing their crew, Jack gets an unexpected call from the parents of Miranda Smart, who request permission to come aboard and visit their daughter. Naturally, this wouldn't be the Ulysses if misunderstandings and unusual things didn't happen. In other words, Smart's parents get the wrong end of the communiqué as to the relationship between Jack and Miri, due to Jack's non-standard attitude.


That was April, May will certainly prove to be interesting as things unravel and more quirky, fun things are revealed in store for this unusual crew.

"Oh, and your the perfect example of this?" Dan asked turning around and facing Jack. It had been a long time since he had seen him last.

"I am now, and that's an order." Jack quipped back.

Starbase Bravo-a Star Trek Post-Nemesis Spacedock-Class sim of galactic politics, intrigue, and the unknown

Premise:
Starbase Bravo was built in orbit around Raeya III, far from the comforts of the Alpha Quadrant. Its mission: promote peace, commerce, and liberty in the Raeyan Sector- the crossroads of the Federation, Klingons, Romulans, and a dozen other interstellar powers.

Diplomats come to negotiate, merchants come to trade, explorers come to discover, and drifters merely wander through. They have come to Starbase Bravo to a forge lasting peace and prosperity, but all also have their own agendas…

Earth Year 2387 has dawned to find that mission now on the brink of failure. The very tensions Starbase Bravo was created to ease are rapidly rising in the face of increasing power struggles amongst the sector’s inhabitants. A vast Empire is fractured with the death of its homeworld, scattering its people and changing the political landscape of the Raeyan Sector forever. The Scar, a seething ribbon of spacetime slashed open by a doomed test of a revolutionary propulsion system, drives some mad with the singular desire to enter its maw. Cities of the Ancients, dead and covered in the dust of eons, are suddenly awakening from their long slumber, with purpose unknown.

The Earth year 2387 dawns. After years of silence, a Romulan astrophysicist colleague contacts the station's Chief Science Officer claiming she has information that could change the galaxy. A Romulan warship arrives at the station filled with civilians escaping some unknown threat to the Empire. Some think it’s the Borg, some think it’s a Reman insurrection; others know its something worse and are being hunted and killed to keep it secret.

Starbase Bravo is currently aged 17+ forum based game. We strongly emphasize character development and interaction. Most of our players are veterans with years of simm experience, and we are happy to welcome those new to the hobby! Most of our stories are geopolitical and intrigue oriented, but we do have some exploration and discovery aspects as well. The atmosphere of SBB is DS9 meets Babylon 5 meets the new Battlestar Galactica meets H.P. Lovecraft. Things will never be as they seem on the surface and things won't always end well for us. Our characters are ever mindful that this is an area of great strife and our presence is all that stands between peace and total chaos. I'll try to come up with exciting and complex story lines and throw in twists and turns for you along the way, and give the players every opportunity to grow their characters.

construction at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards over Mars; it's already attached to Task Force 47-B, "The Minutemen", a part of Obsidian Fleet.

The Jakarta has been modified to suit the specialized requirements of her ongoing mission: To patrol the Romulan border, to provide aid and support to any ships which require escort or protection.

With the recent destruction of Romulus, the Klingon Empire has been taking advantage of the situation and raiding supply lines through the entire Romulan Star Empire.

The USS Davenport is a refitted Excelsior class starship refitted with the best technology Starfleet has to offer.

Her mission derives from the ancient United States Coast Guard on Earth. In 2382 a major peace treaty was signed between the Federation and Klingon and Romulan Empires. Open trading began between the tree powers and it became necessary for an elite service to be formed so that the shipping lanes could be protected.

Later that year a charter was signed that formed the Starfleet Cutter Revenue Service.

The USS Davenport was assigned to the service with the simple mission of patrolling and policing the area of space. This is an experimental mission and if the Davenport is successful more ships will be assigned similar missions throughout the quadrant.

This is no ordinary simm we will not be going where no one has gone before. We are charged with protecting the borders of Federation space and patrolling the shipping lanes. It is going to be tough and only the brave will survive.

I've returned to an old haunt, a ST MUSH. It's known as TrekMUSH: Among the Stars, and can be found at ats.trekmush.org:1701. I thought I'd post here to see if anyone wanted to join me for a drink at Quark's. If you've never tried a MU*, it's a text-based online RPG. This one in particular is ancient, so it has plenty to see and do.

Star Trek: Covert Ops

The USS Ajax, a Steamrunner class vessel tasked for Espionage and Covert Operations within Cardassian and Romulan space, is currently looking for new players to join the crew for its Season 1 Finale. The Ajax is the only starship in Bravo Fleet commanded by a Section 31 Agent.

Captain T. Malcolm St. Cloud, an Agent and Starfleet Officer with a hidden past, commands the only Federation vessel that is commanded by a Section 31 Agent. The Ajax will be docking soon at Deep Space 10 to pick up new crew members for its next assignment.

The Ajax is an 18+ Sim, and is looking for the following officers:

Hey there. If you're looking for a fun Trek Writing experience, then Vanguard is probably for you. we are a new community with three sims open and looking to expand slowly. We favor quality over quantity, and good storytelling over everything else. I've been a part of some great sim sites in the past, and some no so great ones, as I'm sure we can all relate to. What I'm trying to do here, is take everything that I've learned and creat an environment where a bunch of trekkies can get together and tell their stories without having to worry about things like OOC drama or ranks or task forces. I simply want to write some trek. At Vanguard that's what we're going to do.​

As far as organization, it's going to be really simple. There is an Admin or two. What that means is that we update the site and keep things running. on that end. We also set things up for potential sim leaders. Then of course there are sim leaders. They facilitate the sims. And then there are members. They write. There isn't a hierarchy here. Just because a member happens to be a sim leader doesn't make him or her superior to a member. Same with admins. The goal here is to have a site where everyone contributes and plays as equals. No hidden forums... No Admiralty..no cliques... no drama. Just fun.​

Speaking of no Admiralty, when you create a wikidot account (You'll need it to edit bio pages, create articles, and post on the forums), I encourage you to register with your real name or a nickname of your choosing if you'd like. You can always register with your character name too, it's your choice. There is always room in the signature area for multiple character signature banners.​

OOC that's pretty much it. Got a great idea for a character? Want to run a sim? Just want to join another community for Trekkies and Trekkers? Check us out. we have alot of open spots for crew on one of the sims, or for a new startup sim, as well as an area for independant character development. I can also tell you that as a sim leader your only responsibilities would be to facilitate your story. No website, no SMS, Nova or any of that. We keep everything on one forum. All the ship's information will be housed on it's wikidot page or pages as the crew sees fit.

Now for the story.....

The Zulu Sector is an area of space in the Gamma Quadrant that is home to dozens of species. It's a densely populated area that remains largely unexplored by the Federation. This is about to change. The 2nd Expeditionary Fleet, commanded by Admiral Teron Gav of Trill has been assigned to explore the region and set up a base of operations. The Chara Confederacy, led by the Allixi are wary of the Federation's presence. One of the member races however, the outgoing Arielians have allowed Starfleet to set up an outpost in their area of space. A nomadic group of traders lacking the powerful ships of their Chara Brethren, they have much to gain from a strong Starfleet presence in the area.

In addition to the Allixi and the Arielians, there are dozens of other races in the sector, many of them pre warp. Starfleet's mandate here is to explore, and establish good relations with the Chara Confederacy and the other unaligned people in the region.

Starbase 242, a member of Bravo Fleet’s Task Force 47, is located between the Betazed and Vega systems; this station serves as a major transport and resupply hub for the federation and its allies. I am your station's Commanding Officer, Treylana Hess.

Current Mission:

Dilithium has been found on a large asteroid two light years from the station. As the Federation's closest representative to the asteroid, Captain Treylana Hess and her crew are scheduled to host trade negotiations for the mining rights to the asteroid. However, negotiations are put on hold when one of the delegates fails to show for the first round of talks.
