''Rocks and Shoals'' Line-by-Line

Greetings!

We recently finished our "Homefront/Paradise Lost Line-by-Line" in the DS9 forum!

After each completed thread, we're randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner this time around was MacLeod! And MacLeod has chosen part two of the season six six episode arc, ''Rocks and Shoals" as our next Line-by-Line challenge!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes, each episode is a separate thread.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread, LeadHead, or CoveTom, or even I, leandar, tonight's gracious host, (or one of our other fine fill ins when we're all busy) will run the randomizer to determine who will pick the next episode and get it going.

So let's make the damned thruster array take the input!

Captain's log, supplemental. O'Brien needed three days to restore main power to our commandeered Dominion ship, but he's not going to get them. Sensors have detected two Jem'Hadar fighters heading our way, and without main power our chances of survival are slim to none.

 

[Orac]

[Jem'Hadar control room]

(Dax hits a control panel.)

O'Brien: Try it now. Re-route the damned gyrodyne to the damned thruster array.

 

[Leandar]

Nog: Got it!

 

[LeadHead]

Sisko: Garak, where are those ships now?

 

[Thomas L]

Garak: Bearing 3,1,0 mark 2,1,5, still closing.

 

[LeadHead]

O'Brien: Nog, did you reroute the damn gyrodyne?

 

[Orac]

Nog: I'm trying, but the damned thruster array won't take the input.

 

[LeadHead]

O'Brien: Try the lateral impulse thrusters and watch your mouth.

O'Brien walks to Dax.

O'Brien: Access the auxiliary core through the starboard engineering console.

 

[MacLeod]

DAX: I've already tried that! There's still no power to weapons or shields!

 

[Orac]

Sisko: Dax, there's a dark matter nebula sixty degrees above the bow. Can we reach it?

 

[BlueStuff]

DAX: Yes. But that nebula's never been charted. We don't know what's in there.

 

[Athena28]

GARAK: The Jem'Hadar ships are entering weapons range.

 

[BlueStuff]

(Boom!)
SISKO: Dax, get us into the nebula. Full impulse!
(But Dax's console blows up, throwing her back and bringing down a girder.)
SISKO: Sisko to Bashir. Medical emergency.

 

[LeadHead]

O'Brien takes the helm

O'Brien: Helm control's gone!

Our heroes Jem'Hadar ship enters the nebula. The pursuing Jem'Hadar ships break off pursuit.

 

[Athena28]

BASHIR: OK, all right. You'll be feeling better any second now. She's got a puncture of the right abdominal cavity. It looks as though the symbiont may have been injured.

 

[LeadHead]

A small explosion on the bridge

O'Brien: Sensors are gone. Impulse Engines offline. In fact, everything's offline. Emergency power's holding for now.

 

[Athena28]

SISKO: Mr. Garak; take a look outside.

 

[Enterprise1981]

GARAK: Just a moment.

 

[Athena28]

SISKO: Chief, what happened?
