RIP Pennyworth

Rich Watson

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
So the last episode of Season 3, and given the changes at Warners almost certainly the last episode ever has now aired, and while I have often felt that I'm the only person on the planet who knew the show existed let alone watched it, I'm going to miss it. How can you not love a show that ends with
London being destroyed by a nuclear bomb back in the 1970s.

If you liked the insanity of "Gotham" to which this was kind of a prequel, this was a version of that show free of network constraints and you should check it out before HBO Max decides to remove it to save some cash.

Never got into it. I gave up after the first two episodes. It was just too out there for me. A bit too loose with history and the world. I never actually watched Gotham. I like my Batman shows with Batman in them. Will see how that works out with the Penguin TV show.

I've just seen the first few episodes. I think I will check out the rest of the series, while I can.

Thanks for the information. I saw the first two seasons on Epix channel, I didn't realize it moved to HBOMax. I'll have to catch season 3 before it's gone.

Loved it's take on the 60's and the lower class James Bond vibe. Though they went a bit off course with the P-dubs. I'll miss Daveboy and Alfie if this is the last season.

I quite liked this show a lot. It's batshit insane like Gotham, but unlike Gotham, it never takes itself too seriously. And I always got a kick out of how the writers never seemed to know what year it was supposed to be -- especially after the time jump. Alfie is such a likeable guy.

Probably my biggest gripe with the show is they made Martha way too awesome. Like we're supposed to believe she's going to let herself get shot over a pearl necklace sometime in the future.

It's too bad it's going to end on a cliffhanger.

Too soon.. I LOVE this show and have loved that it has gone kind of bonkers from the beginning. They originally sold it as Sean Pertwee's take on Alfreds origins. It's gone far off the rails. Very disappointed, but honestly, not all that surprised.

The rails are a far distant memory. ;)

Just finished E6. The short BTS segment at the end revealed that the scene on Crime Alley was shot on a The Batman set.

Please, please, please don't cancel this show!

Is this confirmed cancelled or are we guessing? HBO actually promoted s3.

HBO and the Discovery channel just merged.

Half their staffs (in both companies) are fired, and half their media (from both companies) is out with the trash.

It's a slaughterhouse.

But, no, there's no word on who lives and who dies, yet.

Yes I know that, though so far its been animation and some movies getting canned.

Did you watch the BTS segment at the end of the last episode... the actors sounded like they were convinced it wasn't the end.

Signed, holding onto hope until the last minute.

I hope so. Dish Network has been talking about the new season of HBOMax's Pennyworth on Studio Channel 102.

I am devastated at the cancellation of Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman's Butler. I was so enjoying learning the origin of Batman's butler! Now how will I ever find out the origin of Batman's butler? Don't you want to know the origin of Batman's butler? I want to know the origin of Batman's butler!

Yawn.
