RIP Edgar Froese

Damn, I grew up on Tangerine Dream thanks to my mom. The "Virgin Years" was by far my favorite era (plus Zeit from before that period) with Phaedra as my favorite album. I'll be listening to that era today in tribute.

People on the TD mailing list were saying how they were going to listen to some of the band music in tribute but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

My dad got me into Tangerine Dream circa 1987. He had Phaeda, Rubycon. Ricochet and Stratofear plus Aqua and Epsilon in Malayasian Pale and it went from there.

A few years later wasn't able to listen to Phaedra for a while. A g/f and I were playing each other's music and while we had that CD on she diecided to dump me.

And if anyone is interested, on Bittorrent (I know it can be found via Dimeadozen) is a series called the Tangerine Tree. For mods- the music is allowed to be traded freely but not sold so I'm not encourage piracy.

It's about 50GB in flac lossless format but it's a collection of concert recordings from 1970 up to 2005 put together by several people on the TD mailling list and is a very good listen.

I also would have loved to see them play live but last year was their first trip to Australia in 22 years but I'm now living in Canada and when they played in Canada I couldn't afford to travel to see them.
