She may not be that well known outside of Blighty but she did have a few hits in the 60's and was part of the Scouse wave of stars along with the Beatles. More known as a TV presenter in the UK.

Only 72. Natural causes apparently.

Its a shame. She was actually a decent singer back in the 60s, and I grew up watching the shows she presented, specifically Blind Date and Surprise Surprise, though I always preferred the former to the latter. She wasn't young I know, but 72 still seems too soon to be taken.

I didn't mind her as a person and certainly didn't wish her ill, but she had a voice like fingernails being dragged down a blackboard and presented the most appalling lowest common denominator shows like Blind Date and Surprise Surprise. It was only through her relationship to The Beatles that she became famous.

A few airplane crews will be breathing a sigh of relief... She was voted top of a "Worst Celeb Passenger" list a few years back. A good entertainer but apparently her niceness didn't extend to "the help", odd considering her own working class roots.
