As for Chris calling her Noona, that’s what the Netflix subtitles say. The American/Canadian ones say nothing.

Yeah, I just watched it again with subtitles on. It does, however, sound more like he says Una at this point though. Seeing as it follows on from "conn", it does seem possible that he could actually have been saying either.

Have to admit, I'd completely missed this first time around.

The CBS subtitles have 'and uh, Admiral' after he says 'giving you the conn'. While Netflix doesn't.

It wasn’t in the captions, so can you confirm we heard that correctly?

First time I thought Pike called her Nanna. Second time I though he said Anna. Third time it sounded like Una. Mount kind of mumbled it.

It all runs together in the dialog as "connuna" so it's an easy mistake to make when transcribing the subtitles. "Conn, Una", "Conn, Noona", and "Conn, 'n', uh" are all going to be nearly indistinguishable in a quick line read in a tense situation. For what it's worth, it sounded like Una to me, but knowing she'd been given such a goofy fanfic pun name in some novels likely primed me to hear it.

That's what I heard too. Feels like a fine name, if I'm being honest.

I also assumed that the guy doing the debriefing was an admiral. But it was pointed out somewhere in this forum that he didn't have all that extra gold nonsense on his shoulders.

But anyway, I think in these instances, "state your name and rank for the record" is just standard procedure.

There's no indication that he doesn't know her name. He's just asking her to state her name for the record, as would be the case in any formal proceeding. Presumably he asked Pike and Spock their names as well, just for the record.

Number One is being puckish, perhaps enjoying a private joke at the admiral's expense.
