Here's hoping that awful stock footage of the WWII fighter planes is replaced by new CGI aircraft. After all, the dialogue keeps saying there's just one plane in the sky but for a moment the unedited stock reel shows two. And the planes are different from shot to shot.

I always thought of it as a deliberate choice, that she was meant to be "the older woman" in young Kirk's backstory.And/or replacing the "Ruth" actress with someone else. She always looked waaaaayyyyy too told for William Shatner's Kirk.
