Regeneration

It felt like they wanted to do a mix of both to me, but it sort of detracted when they did. Like the show didn't really know what it wanted to be, just starting Season 4 now.

Like I say, Hatchery was really uncomfortable watching - especially the ending. I could never see Picard leaving them all to die like that, and his arguments seemed sound to me. The ending was really cheap too.

Just saw "Regeneration" for the first time

What's the general consensus on this episode? I'm curious because I actually enjoyed it quite a bit and thought it gave a little bit of credibility to the First Contact storyline (it always seemed odd to me that Picard's note to "leave history alone" would have been enough to avoid any changes in the timeline, considering.

Thoughts?

(P.S.-- I've seen most of the ENT episodes, but I'm doing a methodical run-through of all the shows chronologically at the moment.)

Re: Just saw "Regeneration" for the first time

Haha-- and it seems Philly B posted literally the exact same question I did. Sorry for not being more meticulous before posting-- mods are welcome to merge or lock this thread if they wish :).

This was my favorite episode of Enterprise. It was able to do what Voyager never could - it made the Borg scarey again!

I feel like I've just been trolled by the Enterprise creative staff. Season 4 had some excellent episodes, and some episodes that were stinkers relative to Season 4 but were gold compared to most of Seasons 1-2 and the majority of 3.

Then we get the last episode. I did give it a buy though, cause I saw that it was the first episode written by Braga and Berman for some time. How some fans give them a pass about their murder of the franchise is beyond me.

Well i liked the Borg episode but it just seemed out of place. If you remember the tng series Picard and the federation meet the Borg for the first time, well Enterprise met the Borg first, but there is no record of it, even though Enterprise was damaged. I just think that they needed to have the episode. Plus since its on record, Picard would have found something the day the Q brought them to the Borg. I know the enterprise series tried to even it out by making it say that the Borg transmission wouldn't reach the delta quadrant until 24 century, when they did attack, but it still isn't enough. Great episode, but didn't need to happen.

Ah, the crap-fest that was TATV. Just look at it the same way I do. It was just a bad dream....never happened. ;)

As to Regeneration. I always liked this one. It made the Borg threatening again and I thought the continutiy was just fine

I didn't see any continuity issues with this one. I thought it was well executed and I liked how they tied in the events of First Contact.

I liked this one a lot. I just figured that the Borg coming to Earth in FC altered the timeline, and Regeration is an outcropping of that. We never saw TOS "after" Regeneration, so we don't know how the future might have changed. Maybe a little, maybe not. Look at TATV: apparently Riker and Troi are older and fatter in the 7th season than they were in the original timeline. :-)

And then that explains why Robau's ship looks like it does before Nero screws with the time line yet again...

But then again, I'm a geek. It was a really good episode, very scary and with a top class score by Brian Tyler.

Regeneration Was f**king awesome.

Not just because it was the Borg (although they were freaky again). Not just because it directly referenced First Contact (which it did) but because it seemed everything in this episode was a step up from others.

Everything from the pacing, action all the way to the music, I mean listen to it!

Regeneration Track 10: Regenerations. I mean, this on its own is probably my most memorable piece of music from Enterprise aside from Faith of the Heart. Its just fantastic. It made the show feel epic, probably to a greater extent than it did during the Xindi arc if you ask me. If every episode of the show was as well put together as this we'd have had 7 seasons and a TV/DVD movie or two if you ask me. Everyone involved was playing their A game on this ep.

Although having said that, Sims funeral is pretty great too. Similitude was another A game ep.
